tion to giving back to thecommunity, while operatingone of the iconic ski facilitiesin Nova Scotia has resulted inthe annual Fall Festival ofColours becoming a majorattraction on Thanksgivingweekend. For two days thereare plenty of activities for allages.
Held on October 8th and9th, over 3,400 people turnedout to enjoy the Fall Festivalof Colours this year. It was thelargest turnout ever for theannual Thanksgiving Weekendevent. Always at the mercy ofthe weather, this year thebeautiful, warm weather andgorgeous display of leaveslead to the success. The eventwas over and displays wereput away before ThanksgivingMonday wind and rain storm
a remnant of HurricaneMatthew which wreakedhavoc on Haiti, Bahamas, andcoastal USA from Florida to
the Carolinas hit Nova Scotia.Along with chair lift rides
up and a nice hike down thehill, and lots of activities, aBBQ and a large variety ofdrinks at the bottom of thehill, the crowd grew larger forthe annual rental equipmentsale drew lots of anxiousskiers getting ready for the skiseason.
Ski Wentworth’s OpenHouse, Ski Swap & Craft Salewill be held on Saturday, Nov.19. For avid skiers who wereunable to attend onThanksgiving weekend, or onNovember 19th, SkiWentworth continued therental equipment sale onOctober 22. The sale will con-tinue on Nov. 5 from 10am-1pm., with the large and finalsale on November 19th. Formore information visit:www.skiwentworth.ca.

This happy trio were part of the over 3,400 who attended the FallFestival of Colours at Ski Wentworth on Thanksgiving Weekend.
Held on Saturday and Sunday, the event was one day ahead of theremnant of Hurricance Matthew’s major wind and rain storm
which passed through the province on Thanksgiving Day.(Submitted)
The Wilson family who own and operate Ski Wentworth makesure there is lots of activities for all ages at the Fall Festival of
Colours. A BBQ, a large variety of drinks and a play area for thosenot wanting to go up the chair lift, plus a rental equipment for
avid skiers, kept everyone busy and having a great time.(Submitted)

Applications are nowbeing accepted from peopleinterested in serving on oneof Nova Scotia’s 160 agencies,boards and commissions.Nova Scotians from all com-munities and walks of life areneeded to serve on agencies,
boards and commissions. All Nova Scotia residents
are eligible to apply.The province launched its
fall recruitment campaign tolet people know about theopportunities available.
The deadline for some
applications is Monday, Nov. 28.
