For two days there are plenty of activities for all ages. Held on October 8th and 9th, over 3,400 people turned out to enjoy the Fall Festival of Colours this year. It was the largest turnout ever for the annual Thanksgiving Weekend event. Always at the mercy of the weather, this year the beautiful, warm weather and gorgeous display of leaves lead to the success. The event was over and displays were put away before Thanksgiving Monday wind and rain storm a remnant of Hurricane Matthew which wreaked havoc on Haiti, Bahamas, and coastal USA from Florida to the Carolinas hit Nova Scotia. Along with chair lift rides up and a nice hike down the hill, and lots of activities, a BBQ and a large variety of drinks at the bottom of the hill, the crowd grew larger for the annual rental equipment sale drew lots of anxious skiers getting ready for the ski season. Ski Wentworth’s Open House, Ski Swap & Craft Sale will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19. For avid skiers who were unable to attend on Thanksgiving weekend, or on November 19th, Ski Wentworth continued the rental equipment sale on October 22. The sale will con- tinue on Nov. 5 from 10am- 1pm., with the large and final sale on November 19th. For more information visit: www.skiwentworth.ca.
