Dear Friends,

Next Sunday our parish beings our Wholiness Plan, a healthy lifestyle program based on God’s plan for us,embracing 5 essential components: Faith, Friends, Food, Fortitude, and Fitness. This program offers aninnovative approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle where people get better together by optimizing theirhealth in each of these life areas. Here is a short overview on each of these 5 essential elements:

Faith ~ Rely on God’s Power Food ~ Eat Food That Loves You Back Fitness ~ Discover Movement You EnjoyFortitude ~ Develop Your Healthy HabitsFriends ~ We Are Better Together

How we care for our body sets the tone for all else in our life. Physical health influences our mental health, our spiritual health, our emotional health, our relational health, and even our financial health. We cannot doanything without this body of ours that carries us through life.

So first, we begin with the most basic level of our life: our physical health. The Wholiness Plan is aboutcaring for our body, ourselves, in every sense of the word ~

To nourish, cleanse and exercise our BODYTo quiet, strengthen and focus our MINDTo awaken, renew and tend our SPIRIT

~ and all this is done in community with our friends!

God has given you a unique mission in life, and therefore only you can fulfill it. In order to fulfill thepurpose He has set before you, it is necessary for you to be physically healthy and strong. The WholinessPlan is your opportunity to serve God, in a healthy body, with a strong mind, carrying within an awakenedspirit, for the rest of your life.

The Wholiness Plan is simple and straightforward; you assess your current health and then dedicate yourbody to God. You ask for God’s help. You gather a few friends and form a weekly support group. We are inthe Ministry Corner with:

• Answers to your questions• Daily journals• Small group sign ups (form your own or join a Connect Group)• Small group HOST Resources

We hope you will join us for this 40-day journey.

Siempre Adelante,

Ann Mulligan Ann Mulligan, RNWholiness Plan Team

Families

People are Gifts from GodEnjoy the blessing of loved ones this holiday season, especially thevery young and the very old. It might mean stopping what you aredoing to listen to a story or play a game or rock someone to sleep. That in turn, may mean that some task goes undone. That ... is ... ok.

How to Say “I Love You”Some parents have an easy time saying the words ‘I love you’ or‘love ya’ or ‘love, love, love you.’ Other parents say ‘I love you’ withtheir actions. One parent might buy you a new shirt or make yourfavorite meal, that to them means “I love you.” Another parent mightshoot hoops or take you to a movie, that to them means “I love you.”You can say “I love you” back with your actions too. Try clearing thetable, or caring for younger children, or fixing a cup of coffee orcocoa to share. All things done in love mean “I love you.”

Advent and the Blessed Virgin MaryAdvent is an especially meaningful season for those who arepreparing to join the Catholic Church. They catch the spirit of joyfulanticipation as they worship with us on Sundays and reflect on thescriptures more deeply during the week. It is also a time wheninquirers, baptized candidates, and catechumens gain an increasedunderstanding of the importance of Mary to the Church. TheSolemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Feast of Our Lady ofGuadalupe, prayers and songs provide an opportunity to see thespecial place that Mary holds in the hearts of Catholics. If you orsomeone you know is interested in finding out more about theCatholic Church or becoming Catholic, please contact CatherineShadduck at [email protected] or call 482-6417 ext. 331.

The Lord with us every momentRemind young people that the Lord is not only present at church, butwith us in every moment. If they do not have one already, considergiving them a physical reminder that they can keep with themthroughout their day. This could be a prayer card to keep in theirschool binder, a saint medal to wear around their neck or even arosary to keep in their pocket.
