Communications Technologies (WAN) - Cons Pros Description Type Fast communication, good for always on -Smart Grid applications. High bandwidth applications which can even deliver internet services. RF networks (esp. MESH) for last mile communications. networks are cost effective in areas of high density. Secure connection to the meter. Can use existing wires infrastructure.
