We haven’t forgotten our roots. Initially inspired by the sea turtle and its independent global wanderings, we believe in sustainability and doing everything we can to work with local communities

to ensure the sea turtle doesn’t become extinct.

The Pacsafe® Turtle Fund opened its grant up to sea turtle conservation projects around the world in 2014. We received over 20 applications from reputable NGO’s and conservation groups

spanning the likes of Costa Rica, Mauritius, Kenya and Panama to Malaysia, Sri-Lanka & beyond. Out of all the applications received, Pacsafe chose to support 3 projects this year. Each project

was selected for its innovative sustainable approach to Sea Turtle Conservation, research and education. We are pleased and proud to be a part of:

The Corcovado Foundation’s Río Oro National Wildlife Refuge and new sea turtle conservation programme which will:

• establish a new field station & volunteer programme

• protect over 80% of nests, characterize nesting populations, implement environmental education and engage with local communities

• support the development of community infrastructure, community-based tourism enterprises and the implementation of best environmental practices

The Sea Turtle Conservancy’s Tour de Turtle education programme which aims to:

• garner a better understanding of migration routes and foraging grounds

• improve local community outreach in three different locations: Nevis, Costa Rica, Panama

• educate the public about sea turtles through the Tour de Turtles website, free multimedia resources, online maps, games, educational activities and le sson plans

Pro Fauna Baja’s development of sea turtle tracking mobile app which will:

• educate the international boating community and get them to be ambassadors for conservation in their own communities

• strengthen efforts to “crack down” on poaching and help marine managers protect known areas of high density turtles
