Welcome to your third Peter Rabbit™ winter adventure at-home activity pack.

Inside, you’ll meet Jemima Puddle-Duck and Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail. They’ve been working hard to get ready for wintry weather, but they need your help! Join them for some fun at-home activities that will let you get creative and cosy this winter.

Activity 1

Can you make a cosy nest?Ducks like Jemima Puddle-Duck like to build their nests in great hiding places. Can you find a good hiding place in your home to make a nest for reading in? You could pad it out with blankets and pillows to make it extra cosy.

Bake biscuits with Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail

Activity 2

On a cold winter’s day, there’s nothing like the smell of freshly baked biscuits filling the kitchen. Help Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail bake some shortbread with the recipe below.

Instructions

• 300g butter at room temperature, cut into cubes

• 450g plain flour• 150g caster sugar

• Mixer or bowl and wooden spoon• Baking tray and baking paper• Cookie cutters • Rolling pin

You will need

1. Ask an adult to help you preheat the oven to 150 degrees.

2. Put all the ingredients into your bowl or mixer and mix slowly until it starts to stick together.

3. Tip the dough onto your work bench and use your hands to bring it all together.

4. Roll out the dough to 1cm thickness and cut out biscuits with your cookie cutter. You could even use a star or tree shape cutters for an extra wintry feel.

5. Re-roll the off-cuts and repeat step 4 until you’ve used all the dough.

6. Place the biscuits on a lined baking tray and ask an adult to put them in the oven for 20 minutes, until golden and just set.
