Gauge: 12 sts x 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Seed Stitch 12 sts x 20 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette Stitch Abbreviations: BO = Bind Off CO = Cast On K = Knit P = Purl RS = Right Side St(s) = Stitch(es) WS = Wrong Side Body Stitch Pattern: Row 1: *[K1, P1]; repeat from * to end of row. Row 2: *[P1, K1]; repeat from * to end of row. Repeat rows 1 and 2 for entire piece. Begin pattern: With color A and circular needle, CO 74 sts. Work 2 rows in Body Stitch Pattern. On RS, continue pattern and increase 1 st each end every other row 3 times. (80 sts) Work in pattern until piece measures 18½” from beginning. On RS, work 37 sts in pattern, join B and work 32 sts in Stockinette st and Sheep Chart Pattern.

Join a second ball of color A and end 11 sts in pattern. Continue to work color A in pattern and work color B for 34 rows of Sheep Chart Pattern in Stockinette st, until piece measures 27” from beginning. On RS, decrease 1 st at each end every other row 3 times. (74 sts) BO on WS, 30” from beginning. Finishing: Weave in all ends. Block piece lightly. Ears (2): With color B and straight needles, CO 3 sts. Work 2 rows in Stockinette st. Increase 1 st at each end every other row 3 times. (9 sts) Work even for 8 rows. On RS, decrease 1 st each end every other row 3 times. On RS, BO 3 together. (1 st) Leave long strand to weave to bottom edge. Tack down with thread. With strand of B and embroidery needle, chain st around edge of ears for a clean finish. Fold ear in half and attach as indicated on chart. Stitch down along top of ear. Stitching it underneath the ear to the body of the blanket.

Legs (4): With color B and straight needles, CO 14 sts. Work in Garter st for 12 rows. Work in Stockinette st for 8¼”. BO on WS, leaving long strand to close seams. Sew side seam, insert Fiber-fil to lightly puff, close top seam. Attach in back at top of each leg, 1" above bottom edge, and 5” from each side (lengthwise), 2½” apart. Cross legs and tack down in the middle.

Eyes (2): With strand of color B, or thread, attach as indicated on chart. Mouth/Nose: With strand of color A and embroidery needle, chain st as indicated on chart. Optional: With strand of color B and embroidery needle, chain st around edge of face for a clean finish.
