PNOGA 2017 ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS--RECAP July 30 August 2 - Semiahmoo Resort Blaine, WA The Annual PNOGA Summer Meeting at Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine, WA, was small in attendance, with a large fun factor!! We were educated by top-notch clinicians and attendees enjoyed all that Semiahmoo had to offer - heated pool, ferry rides, hiking, biking, bird watching, and a few jelly fish and seals were spotted. AGAIN---this meeting was one of the MOST family-friendly meetings ever!! The kids had a lot of fun at Kids Camp (aka Alien Kamp). Everyone who golfed in the Monday tournament had a great time. The Monday night BBQ dinner was stellar with sunset and firepit for S’Mores! The Tuesday President’s Dinner/Dance was lovely even with a DJ this year. We were entertained at the Wednesday Farewell Lunch with a talk from the Port of Bellingham about all the sea-life that abounds in the area. Much thanks to our wonderful speakers, Drs. A Local Vancouver, WA Event - Girlfriends Run For A Cure October 15, 2017 – Vancouver, WA. What is the Pink Brigade? The Pink Brigade is a group of 50 guys who have each agreed to raise $500 or more for the Pink Lemonade Project and will either run or walk the event with the Girlfriends Run For A Cure, or agree to be a VIP Volunteer. Collectively, they will raise $25,000 for the Kearney Breast Center! AND YES.....REAL MEN WEAR PINK!

Waste Connections’ pink recycling cart project was inspired by a relative of the company’s executive, Rob Nielsen. Rob’s sister-in-

law, Deedra Rosamond, passed away at age 35 after a long battle with stage 4 breast cancer. It was one of Deedra’s final wishes for her family

to continue to support a local breast cancer charity. Her struggle inspired Rob and his wife, Desiree, to help make the pink cart project a reality, now known among Waste Connection staff as “Deedra’s Dream”. For

those of you in Clark County, WA—a minimum donation of $100, will garner you one of these unique carts delivered to you. Thanks to generosity of Waste Connections, 100% of

the proceeds go to Pink Lemonade Project. Order your Pink Cart Today!!

CIBC Run For the Cure
