SUMMER SCHOOL! All Summer School class lists, descriptions and the online

registration information were sent home with district elementary students in their Take-Home Folders. The Summer School magazine is also available online at: www.pulaskipace.org Look for Summer School on the homepage. This year we will be at PCMS and Lannoye. Online registration openedto the public Wednesday, April 5 at 5:00pm and closes on Sunday, April 23 at 4:00pm. After that, you will need to register by contacting one of the Summer School staff.Anyone needing help to register may stop at PACE on April 5 from 5-8pm or during school hours, after that. We have over 400 classes to choose from, as well as the Red Raider Rec program, along with transportation and FREE breakfast & lunch. Classes are available for children entering the 4K program through students entering their senior year of high school. We will again be offering High School Phy. Ed. for credit; pre-registration is required through the PHS Student Services Office. SUMMER SCHOOL!

SUMMER SCHOOL DRUM LESSONSIn Destin's studio, students will learn the basics of reading music, snare drum and drumset technique, and how to play various genres of music. They will also learn how to practice effectively, understand the im-portance of listening to other musicians, and hopefully gain a greater appreciation and curiosity for music

as an art form. The only prerequisites required are an explorative, open mind and a willingness to learn; but students with prior knowledge of music fundamentals will benefit more. Min. 4 and Max. 20

Drum Lessons will be given in the PCMS Band Room during the weeks of Summer School. You can choose between having your lessons on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Six weeks of, once a week, lessons will cost $90 per student.

Times of lessons will be scheduled around your Summer School classes, but always between the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Tuesdays: June 13, 20, 27 and July 11, 18, & 25 Thursdays: June 15, 22, 29 and July 13, 20, & 27

Thursday, June29 Discovering Historic De Pere… Leaving the PACE parking lot at 8:00am and heading to De Pere where our first stop will be a unique little European coffee shop and bakery. Next, we head to Seroogy’s for some chocolates and sweet treats.

We’ll tour St. Norbert College then have lunch at the historic Union Hotel. Our afternoon will be spent with Dr. Adam Stueck from the De Pere Historical Society as we tour: the

Lock & Dam District, unique architecture of the historic district, the Abby, Voyager Park and more.Finally, we’ll share a little pizza from Bilotti’s, the oldest Italian restaurant in Brown County and then head

Thursday, July 6...Summer School for Adults...Ever wonder why Pulaski has one of the biggest and best Summer School programs in the state? Sign up for our first ever Summer School for Adults. We will be offering several classes especially for adults using our Summer School teachers and offering PCSD Food

Service meals for very reasonable prices. Sign up using the form on pages 22 & 23.

August… STEP...The Fall PACE Magazine is mailed out to every home in the Pulaski Community School District and page 27 has the STEP application on it. We can only register 25 STEP workers each year, so

sign up early if you meet the qualifications to earn $5/hr (up to a total of $595) off of your Pulaski Community School District property taxes next year.

Wednesday, September 6...Sixth Annual Amish Tour with sweet rolls and coffee and lunch in Amish Homes, stopping at Amish farms, stores, businesses, and their school for a visit. We will also point out the

Shawano County Barn Quilts along the way. Sign up early, as this trip has sold out every year. Leaving St. John Lutheran Church of Pulaski parking lot at 8:30am, returning about 4pm. Pick up also available in Bonduel, in the Kwik Trip parking lot. Registration required through PACE; must have 30 paid registrants

by August 16 to run this trip. Cost is $60.

Wednesday -Thursday, December 6 & 7...Old World Christmas Market Trip includes transportation, most meals and admissions. We’ll leave Pulaski from St. John Lutheran at 8:30am, our trip will include several stops to view ethnic and cultural Christmas traditions, eat Christmas foods, and view lights & decorations. Wednesday, December 6 at 11:30am we start with a Milwaukee Churches & Chocolate Tour that will in-

clude lunch. Supper and overnight stay will be in Pewaukee. Thursday we will visit the Osthoff Holiday—Old World Christmas Market in Elkhart Lake celebrating German heritage and Christmas traditions.

The Red Raider Community Fitness Facility is open to the community. This facility is located at Pulaski High School on the second floor. Please use the parking lot by the tennis courts and enter at the north entrance (door #5). There are stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical machines, free weights, and weight machines for your use. There will always be a staff member available to answer your questions regarding the equipment.What a great way to keep fit while staying in town. AAA BEFORE, 4K WRAP and AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM at GLENBROOK

Glenbrook’s AAA programs will start on September 5 and run every day we have school, pay by the quarter, with “tutoring” help, friends and play. We need a minimum of 15 students to run a program at Glenbrook. Our staff is certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training. Parents are welcome to watch lessons from the bleachers. Children 5 and older are asked to use the appropriate changing room (no family changing room available). We are ADA compliant with lift & stairs. NO CELL PHONES ALLOWED IN LOCKER ROOMS.

Parent /Tot: Ages 6 months to 3 years, parent accompanies child in the water. Pre-School Aquatics: Ages 4-5 years, no parent accompanies child. Levels 1-6: Child must be 6 years old. Children are registered by skill. Please call the pool with questions pertaining to appropriate level placement. No lesson confirmation will be sent. H2O Fitness, Fun & Safety (Fit Fun Safe): This class will work on water fitness, water safety, and water games. Groups will be arranged according to children’s swimming level. Class is one week in length. (There will be no report cards.)

Coach Haywood has been coaching soccer and conducting camps for over 25 years. Presently, he is the Director and Head Coach for Tottenham Hotspur Youth Academy, partnering with Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League. Scotts playing career spans nearly 30 years, including college and Olympic Development Program soccer, as well as try-out stints with professional franchises in the NASL and MISL. Scott’s coaching experience ranges from five year-olds up to DI college programs. COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS ADULT SUMMER SCHOOL THURSDAY, JULY 6, 2017 Try something new; one day of Summer School just for adults. You must be 18 years or older to register for these classes. Register by mailing the registration page in to PACE at PO Box 36, Pulaski, WI 54162. Mark your class choices clearly, include payment (if any is listed) with a check or Money Order written out to PACE. See, for yourself, what your children do while at Summer School.

Want to attend but don’t know what to do with your little ones? We will be offering babysitting for children ages 6 months through 11 years old at our AAA room at Glenbrook. The cost will be $1 per child per hour. You must provide all snacks, bottles, diapers, wet ones, etc. We will provide the babysitters, toys, and time on the playground, weather permitting. Entrance will be through Door #6 on Front Street. Pre-registration is required by June 16th to guarantee a spot for your children. We will hire babysitters accordingly.

Following is a short description of each class being offered. Choose only one class per session and be sure to choose the lunch and supper options if you intend to stay for the meals and tours. Pre-Registration no later than June 16 is absolutely required. Classes will have between 15-30 students each and may be cancelled for low enrollment. You can attend one, two, three, or all four sessions plus lunch and supper, depending on your wants, choices and schedule.

STEM… What is it anyway? Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; an innovative approach to introducing all of these subjects into everyday learning at the elementary level with hands-on projects.

Cookie Decorating…Learn cookie decorating from a pastry chef. The techniques being taught are glazing, flooding, and covering in homemade fondant. Each student will go home with cookies they practiced on, disposable pastry bags, gel food coloring bottles, and a set of food coloring markers too. Bring a container from home to take your cookies home in.

Painting on Canvas 1...Build a canvas and paint a sunset landscape with acrylic paints.

Make & Take Healthy Chicken Meals… Each registrant will take home 10 one pound packages of seasoned chicken breast meals. Ten different seasonings and healthy Extra Virgin Olive Oil to create ready to be frozen or eaten skinless chicken breast meals.

Summer Reading…Explore a large variety of current top books to see what you’d like to read this summer. Learn what today’s students are reading and all the different ways to read a book today. Some books may be available to check out for the summer.

Garage Band… Become a Composer on your own device: Preview and create your own music with your own personal sound studio.

Let’s Make a Movie… Make a video. Bring electronic pictures or actual photos of an event or family members to make your own video. You will learn the planning process, preparation, editing and exporting processes. You will leave with an exported video on YouTube to share with others! We will be using iMovie so feel free to bring your own iPad or use one we have for you! Taught by our Tech. Dept.

Painting on Canvas 2… Build a canvas and paint a mountain landscape with acrylic paints.

Pallet Board Sign… All the supplies and instruction will be provided to paint your own pallet board wall key hanger in one session.

Kitchen Knife Skills…Our ProStart Culinary Arts teacher will guide you through this hands-on lab on how to master kitchen knife selection and usage by practice and preparing actual recipes.

Cameras Today…Bring your smart phone, iPad and/or digital cameras and get help creating photos that are in focus, meaningful and brilliant.

Hand Drumming… Using our PCSD Hand Drums; jam out and learn some fun new beats and patterns to jazz up life one note at a time!

Oneida Culture…Learn a little about the Oneida language and culture and the school year classes we are offering our students related to these.

Tweets, Snaps, Messages… In order to stay involved in your children's activities online or participate yourself, you first need to understand all these social media outlets. We will explore each of these social outlets and have an opportunity to create your own accounts and start collaborating virtually!

Tech Ed Tours & Trades… Using our high tech equipment like a 3D printer, CNC router, CNC plasma cutter, and 3D modeling software we will create a product. In addition, an overview of the high school technology and engineering education department including PLTW (Project Lead the Way engineering curriculum) courses, Raider Products, and all of the other courses covered in our department will be explained during a department tour.

Genealogy and Ancestry…Discover where you came from using online sources and create your own personal family tree binder to continue at home.

Spanish for Travel…Learn several Spanish words and phrases that will make travel to Hispanic countries easier, safer and more fun.

Fitness Center 101…Get an introduction to our PCSD Fitness Center, learn how to use each machine and piece of equipment; then practice on them.

Google Apps… Google Apps for Education is a suite of apps that all PCSD students use in school. You may have learned Microsoft, but our students use Google! Come learn all about Google Apps- docs, sheets, slides, hangouts and more. You will not only have an understanding of this suite of apps, but also be able to be productive using them yourself.

PACE PIANO LESSONSSTUDENTS & ADULTS: If you are interested in taking piano lessons during the day at any of several of the Pulaski schools, call the PACE office for information. PACE has offered piano lessons for many years. Mrs. Bev Heling, the piano instructor, has trained hundreds of local pianists. Her number is 715-758-8600.

Registration and first quarter payment must be received in the PACE office before lessons can start.

PRIVATE/COMMUNITY PIANO & GUITAR LESSONSPACE keeps a list of local people who are willing to teach piano and guitar lessons. CONFIRMATION: Due to time and expense, we do not send confirmations when classes are going as scheduled. Assume your registration is confirmed and the class will meet as scheduled if you havesubmitted your registration form and fees. You will only be notified if a class is filled or cancelled.

PRE-REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is of utmost importance. Lack of registrations will cause the class to be cancelled one week prior to the beginning.

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS: If school is cancelled due to bad weather, all buildings will be closed and all PACE offerings that same evening will be cancelled. If school is in session, generally, evening programs will run. Instructors may cancel at their discretion and let you know otherwise.

REFUND POLICY: If, after pre-registering, it is necessary for you to cancel, notify the PACE Office no less than one week before the beginning of class, your fee, minus a $5.00 cancellation fee, will be refunded. Not attending a class or camp you registered for does not qualify you for a refund.

NON-SUFFICIENT-FUND CHECK POLICY: A fee of $35 will be added to the amount of the NSF check, and full reimbursement must be paid in cash, to the PACE Office, prior to attending the selection.
