– Windows XP had four different editions.

» XP Home: for the home user who only needed basic capabilities.

» XP Pro: for the business user; added file encryption, remote desktop access, and the ability for users to join domains.

» XP Media Center: targeted to the home entertainment market; users could watch TV, DVDs, etc.

» XP 64-bit Pro: added more RAM capability and power; required a 64-bit processor in order to install.

» Vista Enterprise: only available to Microsoft Software Assurance (MSA) customers; added BitLocker Drive Encryption.

» Vista Ultimate: includes every feature available in any version; available to anyone.
