WELCOME BACK after a couple of weeks break and the sunniest Easter for a few years. We return on the 17 th April at 1.15pm in Room 1 with a combined session led by Alwin who will be discussing the Annual Re-testing which took place in February and March and taking an Exercise session. Val and Jan will be the Tea hostesses. ********* Total cost for the term is £25 please which includes £20 for the sessions and £5, a third of the Annual Membership fee. Up to the 5 th June (changeover day) the Yellow Group will take Exercise first. P.A.C.E. POLICIES As was noted in the January Newsletter we have reviewed our Policies and these can be found on the Display Board table each week for you to read. Erika has been designated our Health and Safety Advisor and she is also responsible for the equipment. Congratulations to Val who has passed her recent First Aid course for P.A.C.E. HEALTH AND SAFETY Can we remind everyone to be vigilant about both their own and others Health and Safety. Gill’s accident last term shows how easily these incidents can occur. Gill is slowly recovering but the injury is going to take quite a long time to heal. Can we also remind members that they should inform the Register taker if they have to leave early. FUNDRAISING Bon Marche, Cannock Branch, have agreed to stage a Fashion Show during the late summer, early autumn for us. Monica and Sue G. will shortly discuss a date with them and then a Sub-Committee can sort out the further details. GRANT APPLICATIONS We have applied for funding to the Mid-Counties Co-operative Community Fund and will hear next month if we are successful. Also, thanks to Erika, we are hoping to renew some of our equipment through applying to The Hilton Main Fund for some assistance. Finally, we have an application almost complete to send to The Yapp Charitable Trust which if successful will cover core costs for three years. THINK JESSICA READ JESSICA’S STORY………. Transport is available to both. Royal Stoke- Shuttle Service from Stafford Hospital, 6am to 10pm, £5.00. return fare for Patients and Visitors. You need to pre-book between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, on 01782 813047. You cannot use your Bus Pass. New Cross – Arriva X68 service operates Mon. – Fri. between the two hospitals. Free to NHS patients and Bus Pass holders. Does not run on Bank Holidays. Dates for Your Diary………….
