1. Independence Day
The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated by our Paavai Institutions at Kalpana Chawla
Open Theatre on 15.08.2018 in a grand manner. Hoisting the national flag Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan
Chairman, Paavai Institutions, started the event with the acceptance of Marchpast (The Guard of
Honour) which enthused the gathering with national fervor at the outset. The Chairman, in his
keynote address felt elated to see the august gathering of Paavai students . He suggested that the
responsibility falls on the shoulder of students to preserve our rich heritage and tradition. Respect
and follow our democratic principles, rules and regulations with strong belief in truth, honesty,
determination, responsibility and duty. The youth, are the backbone of our nation. We need to lead
our nation in progressive path and excel in technology, agriculture. We have to propagate our
historically significant features, rivers and natural wealth among other countries. Students should
respect and take care of their parents and elders. They must follow the principles of non-violence
non – violence to achieve everything in our life like Mahatma Gandhi ,the father of our nation. We
are very proud to honor our college student Ms.V. Dhivyaprabha III-AGRI, who participated in
the Republic Day parade held on 15.01.18 in Delhi. Our college will support her in all aspects to
excel in various activities. In view of the Independence Day various activities were conducted to
showcase the talents of youth. The Chairman gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners.
Every Year Blood Donation Camp is being conducted by our college NSS team and certificates
are issued for the donors. Mr.R. Manisekaran, Vice- Chairman, Mr.R. Palanivel,Secretary, Mrs.
Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent , Mr.N.Palanivel, Joint Secretary, Mr.K.Senthil, Director
Admissions, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Mr.S.Srinivasan, Director placement &
training, Principals, Deans, HoDs, faculty members and students participated in the celebration.
2. Engineers day
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College has
organized 51st Engineer’s day celebration in association with Indian Society for Technical
Education (ISTE). The inauguration started with a prayer song. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal,
Paavai Engineering College gave his presidential address where he spoke about traditional
innovations and creations. He also delivered the key elements of innovation which would be
incorporated by the engineering students. Dr.A.Suphalakshmi, HoD/Department of Computer
Science and Engineering felicitated the gathering. Various events like TechTalk, Quiz, Code
debugging were conducted for the students irrespective of their departments. Topics on various
domains like Artificial Intelligence, Thermodynamics, Survey, Chlorophil, Nikola Tesla,
Cybercrime, Internet of Things, BMW cars, Black box, Horticulture were given to the students
who participated in Tech Talk. Mohammed Faisal- II Civil and Simon- IV Aero won first prize.
Paidi Prasanth Chandrasekar-II IT, Akshay- II Civil won third prize in the TechTalk event. The
Quiz event was held in 2 rounds – Preliminary and mains. R.Mohan Ram- IV Mech, R.Pragadesh
Kumar- III ECE and P.Dinakar- II CSE won the prizes.Code Debugging was held in 2 rounds –
Preliminary and mains. M.Prakash Prabhu- III CSE, won first prize, G.Srinivas- III CSE, won
second prize and G.Ajith kumar- II CSE, won third prize. The faculty members and students of
various departments were present in the session and the session ended with vote of thanks proposed
by Akila Jetkin, Third year student.
3. Purapadu Puthumai Sei- (Women Empowerment series-3)
Motivational speech on “purapadu puthumai sei”
On 24th October 2018, a special address on “purapadu puthumai sei” was conducted in
Anandha Arangam at 2.30 pm. The programme commenced with the prayer song. Ms. B. Pavithra
of I M.A. English welcomed the gathering. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions in his presidential
address, insisted the students to be aware of everything that happens around them. Whatever
situation or people they come across in their life definitely teaches a lesson which will be helpful
and beneficial to face the outside world. He also assured that the Women Empowerment series 3
will succor them in all the ways in all the walks of their life. The Correspondent of Paavai
Institutions felicitated the gathering. In her felicitation, she stated that physical appearance is only
a tool to help the students to attain their goal and hence the students should not let others to identify
them by their appearance. She also insisted the students to break the routines not the laws and not
to fight with their negativity instead throw them away from their minds. She concluded her speech
saying that students of Paavai have the potential to change the society and rule the world. Ms.
P.Gangalakshmi of III B.A. English introduced the chief guest. The Guest speaker Mrs. Sheetal
Gandhi, International Trainer motivated the students to be innovative by strictly following the
CODES that is being Constructive, Original, Different, Ethical and Strange. She said that
extraordinary things happen when students think out of box and rightly make use of their
knowledge. She cited the lives of Oprah Winfrey, Saniya Mirza and Indira Nooyi, who broke the
barriers of family, society and personal background and shone in their life by thinking differently.
She also said that executing an idea with determination leads to perfection or success. She
concluded her speech asking the students to gain the knowledge, grab the opportunity, break the
barriers, chisel by shedding the mistakes, move on innovating and transform the community as a
whole. Ms.N.Mounika of I M.A. English proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with
the National Anthem.
4. Pongal Celebration
The students of Agriculture Engineering department of Paavai Engineering College
celebrated Pongal festival on 09th January 2019 in M.S. Swaminathan laboratory. The function
was presided over by our honourable Chairman Shri. CA. N. V. NATARAJA,B.Com, F.C.A.,
Correspondent, Smt. MANGAI NATARAJAN, M.Sc., Director Admin Dr. K. K. RAMASAMY,
M.E., Ph.D., Dr. M. PREMKUMAR, M.E., Ph.D., Principal., Dr. R. Jagannathan, Dean,
Department of Agriculture Engineering and Staff members. The function started by 10.00 AM
with prayer and preparation of pongal. The programme was organized by the students of Velaan
Mandram. All the Students were gathered together to make the event a grand success. The students
participated in various traditional events and activities such as uriyadi, silambam, kummi and
Parai. At the end of the programme Pongal was distributed to everyone in the field by 12.30 PM.

Paavai Institutions proudly presented “ASTRA’19” on 7.2.19 and 8.2.19 – a cultural
extravaganza which is an intra-collegiate fest aimed to provide the platform for the youngsters to
exhibit their talents. The prelude platform started with inaugural function along with the grand
teaser. Shri.N.V.Natarajan, The Chariman, Paavai Institutions, Smt. Mangai Natarajan,
Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, along with other dignitaries lighted the kuthuvilaku. Ms.
Avanthi Natarajan, Student Affairs welcomed the gathering. Shri.N.V.Natarajan, The Chariman,
unveiled the screen of ASTRA’19 and gave his keynote address. Astra’19 had 40+ events under
the categories of Dance , Music, Dramatics, Art Attack, Design, Fashion, Media, Quiz, Lets’s Talk,
Tamil, Misc Sports/Outdoor games and the events have been started to sparkle in all the venues of
Paavai Institutions. The competition was between two master teams of Paavai Institutions.
7. Do Your Duty-Womens day
International Women’s Day and Women Empowerment Series with a special address on
“Do Your Duty” were conducted on 08th March 2019 in Anandha Arangam at 11.00 am. The
programme commenced with the prayer song. Ms. R.Kavya of II B.A. English welcomed the
gathering. The Chairman of Paavai Institutions in his presidential address expressed his delight of
being conditioned and loved by women in the forms of mother, wife and daughter and asserted
that Paavai is proud of the women folk of Paavai. He said that women perform equal to men and
sometimes more than men. He also said that he has given what the students need in current scenario
through seven women empowerment series and it is now the turn of the students to carry out them
to succeed in life by being simple and morale. The Correspondent of Paavai Institutions felicitated
the gathering and honoured the Chief Guest with shawl. In her felicitation, she said that women
should have the quest for knowledge, listening skills, questioning attitude and awareness in action
to reach greater heights in their life. She asked the students not to underestimate themselves,
compare with male, yield to distractions, be meek and take success to the head. She reminded the
students to learn good things and pass confirmed information in their three years formulation
period and asked the students to show the result of the women empowerment series in their
university result. Ms. K.M.Padhumila of III B.A. English introduced the chief guest. The Guest
speaker Dr.R.Kasthuribai, Dean, Faculty Development Department, in her speech said that
encouragement is the first and foremost quality of Paavai, which induces action, comfort, and
motivation. She asked the students to accomplish the action with great love, passion and role clarity
to make the life beautiful by citing many successful personalities like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru,
Robert Frost, Crazy Daizy Victory, Indira Nooyi, Mother Terasa and Alfred Nobel. She then
clearly explicated when, how and how long to perform duties and responsibilities and how to lead
the family and society without role clash. She concluded the speech by asserting that character
alone gives respect and asked the students to learn from life and be happy since women are born
to win. The chairman of Paavai Institutions honoured the chief guest with memento. Cultural
programmes were conducted as a part of Women’s Day celebration by the students of Pavai Arts
and Science College for Women. Students performed fashion parade on literary characters, an
English skit on “Moana”, classical dance, mime, Villupaattu, a Tamil drama on ‘Pasi pini pokiya
mangai’, Aerobic dance and fusion dance. The twin programmes were a feast to ears and eyes to
the spectators. The programme came to an end with the Vote of Thanks delivered by N.Radhika
of I B.A. English followed by the National Anthem.
8. Hostel Day
The Farewell function for the final year students, Paavai Institutions, was held on 10th
April 2019 at Pragathi Hall by 5.30p.m. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions,
presided over the function. The function started with a Prayer song. Ms.R.Sweshika II-ECE
welcomed the gathering. The chairman delivered his Presidential Address and he expressed his
happiness by witnessing growth of the students as well matured in their behaviour. He pointed
out that students learned many things in their college days apart from the academics such as
handling situations, proper planning and decision making etc. He blessed and wished the
students to be successful in their career and personal life.
9. Sports Day
Paavai Institutions celebrated its Sports Day on 16th April 2019. Our C.A.N.V.Natarajan,
Chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function and delivered the presidential address.
The Managing Director and Chairman of Sambantham group of spinning mills Mr. S. Devarajan
was the Chief Guest of the day. Ms.Swesika II ECE welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest Mr.
S. Devarajan inspired the gathering by his inspiring speech. He appreciated our sport persons for
their outstanding achievements and he mentioned that sports & games play a vital role in
developing the physical as well as mental health of the person. It teach us qualities such as
Intelligence, achieving the goal, concentration, patience and facing the challenges. We should
follow all these qualities to be successful in our professional life. He highly appreciated and praised
Paavai Engineering College for securing Overall Championship with 780 points in the Anna
University Inter Zone Tournament and bagged Champions of Champions Trophy for the 5th
consecutive year. The chief guest with the dignitaries distributed the prizes to the Inter University
students who won Gold medals. Our chairman honoured the chief guest with the memento. Our
Correspondent Srimathi.Mangai Natarajan, Directors, Principals, head of the Department, faculty
members & students of Paavai Institutions were present. Ms.R.Abinaya II ECE delivered the vote
of thanks.The function ended up with National anthem.

5.CONVIVIAL-19 (Hostel Day) The Farewell function for the final year students, Paavai Institutions, was held on 10th April 2019

She insisted that the students are the future leaders of a nation. So all the students should realize
their roles and responsibilities to act accordingly. Finally, she wished that the students should have happy
and prosperous life in their future. Final year students shared their experiences of their hostel life and
they revealed their satisfaction and contentment on their safety, food and cleanliness of Sri Annai Illam,
Paavai Campus. Dr. K. K. Ramasamy, Director Admin, Paavai Institutions, Dr.K Selvi , Dean Academics,
Dr.M.Devi, Principal, Paavai College of Engineering, Mr.M.Mohan HOD/S & H, faculty members and all the
hostel students took part in the function . The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by
Ms.T.Sathya IVChemical Engineering PEC.
6.Mupperum Vizha Paavai Institutions celebrated the Mupperum Vizha those are Thiruvalluvar Vizha, Bharathi Vizha & Inauguration of Tamil Mandram on 20.12.2019
7.Astra'20 “ASTRA 2020” -A two day intra-collegiate cultural extravaganza was organized by Paavai Institutions under the student activity forum AURA and SPARISM on 27.02.2020 and 28.02.2020 for engineering students headed by Director, Student Affairs. Chairman CA. N.V. Natarajan presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. Mr.Gowtham, Playback Singer and Vijay TV Super Singer finalist season ‘7’was the chief guest. Director Student Affairs cum ASTRA convener Mrs.Avanti Natarajan welcomed the gathering. In the key note address, the chief guest Mr.Gowtham addressed the gathering that, “This ASTRA 20’ has given the students a platform to improvise their skills and interest towards cultural activities. ASTRA 20’, more than being a normal cultural fest, it has given them good experiences to shape their creativity and talents. He also included that these type of cultural fest will encourage and motivate younger minds to overcome fear and hesitation. In-addition he insisted that perseverance with determination will help them to succeed in life and become achievers. ASTRA 20’ had a new visage this year with a total of 40+ grand events grouped under 12 categories like Dance, Music, Singing, Dramatics, Pattimandram, Fashion Runway, Art Attack, Sports etc .These events were conducted to prove students’ strength and unity in this competitive cultural environment. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions felicitated the gathering. Chairman, Paavai Institutions greeted the Chief guest with a momento and shawl. ASTRA 20’ trophies were presented to the three teams – Paavai Wizards followed with Paavai Warriors and Paavai Panthers. Finally, Vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. M. Mohan, Head, Science and Humanities, Paavai Engineering College. In this function, Secretary Mr. Palanivel, Director Administration, Principals, Dean, Controller of Examination, juries, faculty members and students were present.
8.Ulavu Thriuvizha-2020 Ulavu Thiruvizha – 2020 was held on 10.01.2020 & 11.01.2020 at Anandha Arangam. The Program was preside Over by Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman, Paavai Institutions. Mr.G.Sriram Prasad, CEO, Keerai kadai, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest.
9.Republic day 71st Republic Day Celebration was celebrated on 26.01.2020 at Kalpana Chawla Open Theatre. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, chairman, Paavai Institutions presided over the function.
