Her hands cupped his face, then slid down to rest on his shoulders. The length of herbody pressed against him. “I want to be with you,” she said.
- Walter Robinson, New York, 2017
Walter Robinson (b. 1950) explores themes of popular and commodity culture, desire, and love. His gestural, emotive scenes range from romantic embraces to still lifes of everyday objects, articulating a Pop-influenced embrace of the consumerist ideal. A retrospective spanning four decades of the artist’s work was held at the University Galleries at Illinois State University in Normal, IL (2014) and traveled to Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, PA and Jeffrey Deitch in New York, NY (2016). Robinson’s work is the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, San Jose Museum of Art, and Sheldon Museum of Art, among other institutions. Robinson lives and works in New York.

Marilyn Minter looks forward to welcoming an intimate group of up to 10 people to

Minter subverts expectations for these genres by adding dir t and grime to her
subjects. She has shown extensively, including at the Contemporary Art Museum
Houston, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Dia Art Foundation, White
Columns and the Brooklyn Museum.
