What is PJAS?PJAS is similar to a science fair.

You pick a topic/project of interest to you

You carry out an experiment/research relevant to your project idea (You must have relevant data to collect)

You put together a presentation of your data and findings to present to judges.

First place winners go to the state competition at Penn State.

Kids that have participated in PJAS from grades 7-12 are guaranteed scholarship money upon graduation.

Only One Variable

A Control Group

Several Trials

Data Analysis (Data Tables, Graphs, Statistical Analysis of some type)

A large specimen sample

Project Verification:If you do not do your project afterschool with

a member of the BHS faculty, you must

Provide photographic evidence of your work throughout the project.

This will include you in the picture with your specimens as the project procedures. This does not mean one shot of you, but several of you as you do the project.

Any student who is found to have falsified data or to have plagiarized any part of their project will not be able to present at PJAS.
