If you love decorating for Christmas, please join our committee as they deck our halls beginning Friday, Nov 22 at 9:00. Meet Kaye Rice and her gang of elves in the front lobby. They will also meet on Saturday. Email Kaye at [email protected] for more information or to tell her you will be there. Choir Groups In order to keep the pageant stage from looking like an unorganized mob, Karen Cable has divided the choir into groups. Each group has no more than eight people in it. It is impossible for the directors to tell each and every one of you (there are 138 choir members) exactly where to stand and what to do in each scene. At the beginning of the next rehearsal (or before, if possible), your group should discuss who you are and what you are doing. You may want to be basket sellers or fishermen or a band of thieves. The idea is that while you are on stage, you assume the role you have assigned to yourselves and act as if you truly are a basket seller or a fisherman or a thief. Where Are All the Kids? Large scenes like the Triumphal Entry take lots of planning. Which door do they come in? Where do they go? What do they do? Michelle Williams assigns people, including children, to specific aisles and entrances. Because of this year’s pageant music, there aren’t many opportunities for children. Being in the triumphal entry scene is an option for your kiddos but we must have you sign them up. We have received very few volunteer forms for children and are afraid that many of you just assume your children will be in this scene. A signup sheet will be passed around tonight and on Sunday for you to sign up your child. Please indicate their age and what ADULT (over 16) they will be walking with in the aisle. In the past we have had young teenagers responsible for younger kids but that hasn't always worked out. We strongly encourage that a parent or grandparent of the child be with them. The only exceptions would be those in the pit choir or those with a speaking part. A FEW CHILDREN will be on stage with their parents for that scene but THESE WILL BE ASSIGNED PARTS AND SPECIFICALLY BLOCKED. Please do not just bring your kids on stage.

Devotion Guides

Our “40 days of prayer” devotion guide begins

tomorrow! It is a little different this year. Instead of an

actual devotion, Alyson has provided a scripture

reading and then space for you to write what God is

speaking to you. This guide is intended to be just that

– a guide to be used to allow God to speak to you.

Personally. Not for someone else to tell you what God

has said to them, but for you to listen to what God has

to say to you. Printed books are available on the

Pageant Central table in the choir room or you can

read it online at

www.firstbaptistraytown.com/pageantcentral.

Pageant Childcare We provide childcare for all pageant performances as

well as the rehearsals during the week before opening

night. If you need childcare, you need to submit a

Childcare Reservation Form. So far, only ten

reservations have been made. Forms are available

online at www.firstbaptistraytown.com/pageantcentral

or you may pick up a printed forms in the choir room

on the table with the red tablecloth. There are several

blanks on the first page that need to be initialed as well

as child information on the second page. Be sure to fill

out both pages.

State law requires a staff person per specified number

of children, depending on age. Julie Pieratt needs to

know NOW how many children she will have so that

she can schedule the required number of workers. She

also plans nifty craft activities for the children and

buys supplies according to the number of reservations.

Pageant Posters Pageant posters are now available! If you know of a

business or a billboard posting area where one of the

beautiful posters can be displayed, feel free to take as

many as you need. You will find them on the Pageant

Central table in the choir room.

Makeup Everyone on stage must wear theater makeup. The

makeup you wear every day is not heavy enough and

will wash out when the stage lights hit you. We

provide makeup in the designated makeup rooms

(foundation, blush and brown pencil) and clean

sponges. If you would prefer to have your own

personal makeup kits, you can purchase one for

$15.00. Order forms are available in the choir music

book or blank forms are on the Pageant Central table

in the choir room. Your check must be attached to

your order and must be turned in by this Sunday. Kits

will be distributed Dec 1st and 2

nd.

Don’t Forget!

Sunday is the big day for unloading the trailers. We

need all the help we can get right after second service.

Although we need some brawn, we will have light

work with the props. This is the Chiefs’ bye week so

you don’t need to hurry home for the game.

See you there!
