Kranunion companies are driven by the great
German Engineering Tradition. All of their products
are centred around ingenious technical concepts
that are perfectly suited for the task at hand.
Customers who choose Kranunion choose great
German engineering skill: for environmentally-
friendly and safe, modern technology, for low
operating costs, for high performance and
reliability.
8 KIROW
Mr Liebig, crane builder, and Mr Unruh, expert for
continuous material handlers, founded “Unruh und
Liebig” in 1887. After the Second World War the
company was renamed “Unruh und Liebig-Trans-
masch”, before it was named “Kirow”. From 1958
on Kirow was part of the TAKRAF combine. The
TAKRAF Logo was put on the irst-class Kirow
railway cranes from 1970. After Germany’s reuniica-
tion Kirow became an independent entity again under
the name of “Schwermaschinenbau Kirow Leipzig”
and established itself as a specialist for railway
cranes of a new generation.
Today the company is renowned for its highly mobile,
elegant cranes and its versatile transporters.
8 ARDELT
Ardelt is a company with a great tradition. Founded
in 1902 by the engineer and inventor Robert
Ardelt, it developed quickly to become a leading
supplier for slewing, mobile, railway and gantry
cranes. The invention of the double jib level lufing
principle in 1932 is a highlight of the company’s
history. The company stayed intact and successful
although names and ownership changed over
time. In 1958 it was named “VEB Kranbau Ebers-
walde” and became part of the materials handling
group TAKRAF – which also became the brand
name for its high quality products. Several
thousand harbour cranes from Eberswalde still
bear the TAKRAF name. In 2008 the company
decided to return to its roots and take up its
traditional name: “Ardelt” – the specialist for highly
eficient slewing cranes. With the return to the
Ardelt name the company takes up and continues
its strong tradition for engineering excellence and
entrepreneurship.
8 KOCKS
The history of Kocks reaches back to the engineer
Francke who founded the company in 1872. It
was taken over by the engineer and name giver
Dr Friedrich Kocks in 1952. Dr Kocks developed
the company into a premium brand in the industry.
The company was sold to Peiner AG in 1980, a
subsidiary of Salzgitter AG, and came through
the hands of Vulkan to Kranunion. Over decades
Kocks set the standards for ultimate crane perfor-
mance. The company is the European pioneer for
ship to shore container cranes. After the takeover
of Krupp Hafentechnik Wilhelmshaven (the former
Krupp Ardelt) in 1988 it became the world market
leader for Goliath cranes. When project require-
ments test the limits of technology, customers
today trust the great know-how of Kocks.

8 TUKAN M & SUnrivalled eficient slewing crane for ports (M=Multipurpose) and shipbuilding (S=Shipyard) due to the original Ardelt double jib slewing system and fully electric drives.
8 TUKAN K & BThe specialists for bulk handling with the original Ardelt double jib slewing system: extremely durable in combination with low operat-ing costs. Tukan B (B = Bulk) or Tukan K (K = Kangaroo) with an integrated hopper for the shortest load paths.
8 TUKAN FDouble jib slewing crane on pon-toon with low centre of gravity for high throughput. Flexible applica-tions: from ship to ship or ship to shore.
8 KONDORA modern yet proven double jib crane with footstep bearing. Easy transport, economical operation and maintenance.
8 KRANICHCustomised jib crane with an es-pecially lightweight boom system for highly demanding infrastruc-ture requirements. Load capaci-ties, capacity, geometry and clas-siication can be selected freely.
8 PELIKANThe weight of the Pelikan boom is balanced by a moveable coun-terweight, so that only the load has to be moved. Thanks to its balanced system the Pelikan is more eficient than an excavator. High illing capacity is achieved with positive digging pressure leading to increased throughput.
8 MULTI TASKERKirow railway cranes are multi-purpose devices for switch con-struction, track and bridge con-struction, and accident recovery. The Multi Tasker can carry heavy loads in front of its buffers and slew sideways, without encroach-ing on neighbouring rails.
8 DESEC TRACKLAYERThis off-road special machine with rotating crawlers for switch construction is ideal for single-track lines.
8 SWITCH TILTERThe Switch Tilter is the perfect transporter for just-in-time switch logistics. No working at height thanks to its low platform. Combined with the Multi Tasker and Tracklayer, unrivalled quality, speed and safety is achieved in switch renewal.
8 SLAG TAURUSExtremely robust and reliable slag pot carrier with CAT articu-lated bearing and patented safety system. Available in platform and u-frame design. Unrivalled low life cycle costs.
8 MULTI FLEXUSArticulated-steering transporter for pallets, slabs and ladle trans-ports in steel mills. It uses the same powertrain and CAT hitch as the Slag Taurus. Very agile thanks to its 90 degree steer-ing angle.
8 MULTI MOVERA product group of transporters for use in steel works, shipyards and on construction sites. The basic design is a combination of our wheel bogies with special task-related frames.

8 MADE IN GERMANY
Kranunion companies are German manu-
facturers. Our workshops have the exper-
tise and are large enough to do in-house
production of all self-designed components.
Both workshops are fully certiied, have
extensive quality control departments and
are run in accordance with modern ISO
requirements.
The two manufacturing sites are strictly
specialised, with Kirow in charge of steel
structure fabrication for the group and
hydraulic assembly and testing of its mo-
bile products, and Ardelt concentrating on
electrical containers, machining, and the
inal assembly of quayside cranes.
