WHAT IS THE PTP OFFERING? Advice

- If you have no or limited experience of outreach with schools in the past we can help you get started.

Guidance-If you would to expand your STEM activities but are unsure how to do this we can offer guidance in the form of exemplar activity frameworks, mentoring, event visits and other online resources.

Support- This is available through mentoring which can be by email, over the phone but also face-to-face meetings and visits. We can also point you towards other organisations that may be able to offer information and support.

Funding- PTP participants have been given access to funding for a STEM outreach activity to get them started!

WHAT HAVE PARTICIPANTS BEEN ASKED TO DO? Sign up to the PTP through Heads of Departments – hand in

the Expression of Interest form.

Run a minimum of one STEM event by July 2012 in addition to any STEM events/outreach you already do (with funding and support).

Develop a ‘teacher forum’ to help guide your outreach activities and improve links between your institution and local schools.

Produce a case study to document your progress and activities run by July 2012.

Produce a strategy for your STEM outreach work for the next 2 years (2012-14).

OUTCOMES - FRAMEWORKS Frameworks – these are step by step guides to tried and tested

STEM events and they have been added to the website at http://www.hestem.ac.uk/activity/practice-transfer-partnerships/SRW

These have been written by all partners, and cover a variety of age groups

There is advice on budgets, staffing, rooms, equipment, and a time planner for partners wanting to run these events themselves.

participants have gained from taking part in the project and to pass on their advice and best practice.
