This Power Point Presentation is an introductory piece to our digital portrait unit.
Questions and vocabulary are incorporated to help students review the principles of design and analyze the work of a master artist.
It showcases the famous artist, Andy Warhol, to foster inspiration and give a historical reference to my students’ projects. PBS documentary film and info about Warhol-- http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/episodes/andy-warhol/a-documentary-film/44/ Artcyclopedia http://www.artcyclopedia.com/history/pop.html
I specifically focus on Andy Warhol’s grids of famous people because they are all so full of color and contrast yet are visually unified.

•In the 1950’s there was a consumer boom after World War II
• This was a perfect environment for POP ART to gain momentum since the style celebrated consumer products
![Page 14: P O P A R T Portraits Final](https://reader034.fdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052523/5564b2dcd8b42a7e178b4623/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
•POP ART was mostly created on canvases and displayed in
Art galleries in the 1950’s
•Instead of in galleries, where do you see today’s Pop
Art designs?
