Theme of the poem

About the writer

Critical summaryOzymandias divided ii two parts:1. Octave, 8 lines(about problem) :Here the poet says that once he met a traveller who has visited an antique land (Egypt) . The traveller tells the poet that he has seen 'a trunk less statue of a mighty ruler in the desert. it was all broken. The face of the statue lies in the sand and there is a frown on the face. The face has an expression of arrogance and proud. 'He tells that the sculptor had created the statue with full emotions. He had skillfullyinterpreted the king 's feelings. and the king doesn't 't even respect the sculptor who has made his statue.ART IS LIVING NOT THE RULER 'S POWER.2. Sestet, 6 lines (resolution) :The traveller informs the poet that on the pedestal some words were inscribed in which OZYMANDIAS , the ruler declares that 'he is the king of kings , the greatest of all. Nobody could defeat him & if anyone e tries to surpass him , he would end up in frustration. 'Then the poet says that in this world nothing is immortal. the time can sway away all the things. The ruler or his great kingdom will not live forever but there will be sand everywhere.
