Oxford Preservation trust awards 1977 -2017‘Keeping the best of the old and encouraging the best of the new’ are words from the first OPT Annual Report 1927 which ethos remains at the heart of the Oxford Preservation Trust Awards, which began to celebrate our first 50 years in 1977.
We are delighted that in this 40th anniversary year we continue to attract entries of the highest standard and quality, each making their own contribution to this great city of ours. The Panel have enjoyed visiting all of the projects leading to lively discussions in awarding the 7 plaques and 8 certificates across the categories of Building Conservation, New Buildings, Small Projects and the Landscape and the Environment.
I thank our sponsors St Catherine’s College, Carter Jonas incorporating Kemp and Kemp Property Consultants, Critchleys Accountants and Freeths Solicitors.

Established in 1927, we have links across all walks of the City’s life; from town to gown, working to make a positive difference to our buildings and streets, and caring for open spaces which contribute to Oxford’s green setting. Through widening public access
and participation, we add something extra to the lives of the people who work, live and visit.

OPt awards ‘40in40’‘keeping the best of the old and encouraging the best of the new’Oxford Preservation Trust began in 1927 and to celebrate our first 50 years we held the first OPT Awards in 1977. It was such a success that we just kept going.
The Competition has been running in The Oxford Times and Oxford Mail over the past five weeks with 8 projects displayed each week all taken from award winning projects over the past 40 years ranging from the restoration of lanterns and railings in Park Town in 1977 to the Blavatnik School of Government in 2016.
Thanks to The Oxford Times for their support in running and our sponsors Carter Jonas incorporating Kemp and Kemp Property Consultants, Critchleys Accountants and Freeths Solicitors.
