Welcome Kits are sent within the first month after purchase and are mailed weekly to ensure timely
receipt of the kit. The objective is to extend a “Thank You” for purchase and a “Welcome” or “Welcome
Again” greeting. The Welcome Kit also provides each owner with their TLC Roadside Assistance Cards. The
images and copy of this communication vary depending on the model purchased.
S U R P R I S E A N D D E L I G H T (Direct Mail only)
The Surprise and Delight cards were sent based on whether or not the owner has serviced their vehicle within 8
months after purchase. The objective was to reinforce the behavior of those who regularly use Precision Crafted
Service® and to provide motivation for those who don’t. The 2 versions (Servicer and Non-Servicer) were sent from
February 2010 to February 2011. The Non-Servicer version offered a complimentary service package to entice the
owner to book an appointment and has since been dissolved due to budgetary limitations.
R E A F F I R M A T I O N (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
Reaffirmation is sent 3 months after purchase. The objective is to continue the excitement
about their purchase and solicit e-mail and owners.acura.com registration, where appropriate.
There are three versions of this piece that vary by whether the owner is registered or not on
owners.acura.com or if we have their e-mail address.
I N T O U C H (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
In Touch is sent 16 months after purchase. The objective is to reinforce Acura’s
“Advance” personality and to reiterate the importance of servicing their vehicle
at their Acura dealership. In Touch encourages the owner to visit
owners.acura.com. One version of this communication is sent to all customers.
S E C O N D A N N I V E R S A R Y (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
Second Anniversary is sent 24 months after purchase. The objective is to celebrate the customer’s
relationship and to congratulate them on their second year of ownership of their new Acura.
The cover features the entire Acura family of vehicles and the interior copy varies by model and
lifestyle cohort—either Beautiful Living or Work, Family, Community.
F I R S T A N N I V E R S A R Y (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
First Anniversary is sent 12 months after purchase. The objective is to celebrate the customer’s
relationship and to congratulate them on their first year of ownership of their new Acura. The
First Anniversary card features images and copy that vary depending on the model purchased.
F O U R T H A N N I V E R S A R Y (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
Fourth Anniversary is sent 48 months after purchase. The objective is to subtly congratulate
and thank our owners for their continued relationship with Acura and encourage them to
step into something new. The communication also includes a call-to-action to test-drive the
latest in Acura innovation. This is the final communication in the AOLC program.
W H A T ’ S N E W (Direct Mail only)
What’s New is sent 28 months after purchase. The objective is to build
excitement around the brand and provide owners more news on the
name they love. The copy varies by Purchase Driver Mindset—Red
Carpet, Smart Money, Durable Enjoyment, Total Package—and the
U P D A T E S (Direct Mail only)
Updates is sent 20 months after purchase. The objective is to give owners information on what’s new with
the Acura brand and to provide reasons to feel good about owning an Acura. This communication is updated
periodically to provide fresh, relevant information. Updates is versioned by model purchased, as well as by
lifestyle cohort—either Beautiful Living or Work, Family, Community. Images and copy vary to appeal to each
individual customer on a deeper level.
N E X T V E H I C L E (Direct Mail and E-Mail)
Next Vehicle is sent 32 months after purchase. The objective is to keep the owners engaged with
the Acura brand and introduce the newest Acura Lineup, as they may be in the market for a new
vehicle. The interior focuses on the features of each Acura model and the copy varies by Purchase
Driver Mindset—Red Carpet, Smart Money, Durable Enjoyment, Total Package—the client’s service
history—Loyal vs. Non-Loyal—and their e-mail address availability.

Third Anniversary is sent 36 months after purchase. The objective is to celebrate the
customer’s relationship, congratulate them on their third year of ownership and present, one
last time, the new Acura Lineup so that it’s first in their mind when they decide to purchase
their next vehicle. The inside features the entire Acura family and the copy varies by Purchase
