Gidday fellow members,

It’s hard to believe that we’re nearly halfway through the year already, the months sure are ticking over.

I’d like to thank Les and Sonya on their work effort in organising MCM, it was a great day.

Also, thanks to Peter for zooming around all day looking after the $$$$, I think he wore out his shoes.

To the members that helped set up on the Saturday and dismantle on the Sunday, a huge THANKYOU. (Clayton, Andrew, Mick, Kel, Col.N, Michael, Martin, Ash, Craig, Col.H -if I missed anyone out, my apologies).

To all the behind the scenes ladies and gents, (committee and members partners) another, thank you.

We’ve had three new members join us over the last month.Would you all welcome:

- Reece Gauden and his 2001 VX Clubsport R8 in Tungsten.

- Graham McCulloch and his 1988 VL Grp A SS.

- Bob Snook and his 1999 VT GTS in Raven Mica.

We have the Maleny Muscle on the mountain coming up on the 7th of July.

If you love your cars, this is the show for you, more cars than a Chinese shopping centre, nearly.......

That’s all from me.See you at an event soon.

FROM THE PREsIDENT’s DEsK

Hi Everybody, Already we have passed the halfway mark for 2019 and enjoyed some great club events where we come together to enjoy the company of like minded people, and the fantastic support you give to these events, we sincerely thank you all for this.

So many members came on the Saturday before the MCM car show and helped with the setup, which is a mammoth task setting up fencing, marking out car spaces and much more. We were so grateful for this helping hand, without you all that were involved the job would have taken so much longer.

Darrel Cox you are a legend, picking up those cable trays and transporting them to the site, then on Monday picking them up from on site and taking them back to the hire company as well as driving the fork lift carrying concrete block and fencing on Saturday, thank you mate for everything you did. Colin and Roz Humphries coming all the way from Gympie to help with the set up. Thank you, guys and to everybody else that came to help, we absolutely appreciate all you did.

Friday 31st May Zupps Holden and HSV Mt. Gravatt hosted the Club General Meeting with Jordi Blanco and Kevin Chow releasing the new 2019 Camaro and the Limited-Edition Sports Cat to the members on the night. This was a great presentation by Jordi having the cars on the showroom floor for all to see as well as a verbal and screen presentation of specs and options. Mark Beresford our Queensland Manager for HSV was also present at the launch.

This dealership support given to the HSV Owners Club Qld by all of the HSV Dealers in Brisbane is so important to the Club and the support of our Club members back to the dealerships is imperative. It is a way of saying thank you to them for all they do for us as a Club and the way in which they look after the club members. Should it be buying a new car

or the service rendered in the workshop and spare parts departments gives you, our Club members an edge that is impossible to match elsewhere. Nothing beats genuine HSV servicing and genuine HSV parts to keep your pride and joy in pristine condition.

Sunday 9th June MCM Holden Day held at “Munchies” Elizabeth Street shopping centre again was a spectacular show of some of the best Holdens, HDT’s and HSV in Queensland if not Australia. We again Thank your major sponsors, Zupps Holden and HSV Mt. Gravatt, Auto 1 Browns Plains and Image Perfection for their awesome support of this iconic event as well as Tekno Performance and Autosport. We also must thank HSV for helping to secure Mega Fuel Mobil 1 drivers. This event has had many firsts with race drivers and the release of some iconic cars at events and this time was no exception. Jordi and Zupps Holden and HSV Mt Gravatt released to the public at the event the much anticipated 2019 ZL1 Camaro Super Car with an amazing reaction from the public.

We also must thank Andrew Quinlan for bring the 2 iconic proto type cars only ever seen in southern states and for the first time together in Queensland the GTSR Coupe race car and the proto type Maloo Ute, both were an absolute crowd pleaser.

The quality of cars on show has gone beyond all expectations each and every year, that sentiment was also echoed loud and clear this year by the judges of which we all must be proud. Even though public numbers were down compared to last year due to moving the event a week later due to guest drivers not being available for the normal week and many other car related events on the same day , next year will be back to normal, however car entry’s for the show were unaffected which was a great thing.
