The Examinations
Examination format.
•Exam in two parts, Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’
•Part ‘A’
–20 Multiple Choice Questions, select A, B C, or D. Only one is correct.
•Part ‘B’
–Two written questions – requires about 3 or 4 lines of text
•9 Photo graphs with clear deficiency – identity relevant question
number from OVIQ and then write an ‘observation’.
OVID is an inspection protocol that will allow project and marine assurance teams to
assess the safety and environmental performance of a vessel and its operators in a
more effective and uniform manner.
Inspections are completed by inspectors who are accredited and subject to
continuous review.
Inspections are tailored to the operations that the commissioning company is
interested in.
OVID may be scaled to include other inspection/ audit types, inclusion of these will
be subject to the oil companies needs.

terminal and offshore marine operations, and develop and publish
recommended standards that will serve as technical benchmarks.

regulations that enhance the safe construction and operation of oil tankers,
barges, offshore support vessels and terminals, working with the IMO and
other regulatory bodies, both regional and national.

To encourage Flag States, port states and classification societies in their
enforcement of international conventions and regulations.
