We are pursuing both long-term and short-term research goals based on Physics priorities
1. Qualify ablator materials.
2. Mitigate capsule support
perturbations.
3. Mitigate the fill tube
perturbations.
4. Improve drive symmetry with
hohlraum modifications
5. Develop new materials and

Summary
1. We are continuing work on plastic, HDC, and Be ablators and
are developing new metal shell ablator methods.
2. We have developed a number of alternative capsule support
methods.
3. We have produced a number of approaches to line hohlraums
with foams and have developed new methods for producing
foams.
4. We are working on methods to improve control over the
layering process.
5. We have developed new bonding techniques for EOS and
strength targets.
