2 Good Practice Guide on the operation of AC quantumvoltage standards

The Good Practice Guide is intended for both National and Industrial Metrology Labora-tories who wish to invest in the development of a quantum standard for alternating voltagebased on the Josephson effect. It gives a detailed description of the components requiredto construct a practical system as well as information on measurement techniques, un-certainty estimation, software tools and safe operation of cryogenic equipment. 3 PJVS-driving-toolPJVS-driving-tool is open source Python program capable of properly driving a 13 bitProgrammable Josephson Voltage Standard (PJVS) through the remote-control of four 4-channel arbitrary waveform generators and a nanovoltmeter. It is made up by three forms:1) for checking IV characteristics of each PJVS subsection; 2) for testing quantization;3) for synthesizing stepwise voltage waveforms. Everyone is invited to participate in thedevelopment.

5 Establishment of Working Group for AC Quantum Volt-age Standard Development and Cooperation

A new technical committee was formed and was proposed as a working group of EurametTC-EM. The objective is to establish the basis for the future European cooperation onAC voltage quantum standards. The first establishing meeting was held on 16. 4. 2018.The second meeting will be held as a satellite meeting during CPEM 2018 conferencein Paris. The technical committee is a key infrastructure to share and develop the knowl-edge after the end of the project. Because of the knowledge gained in the project, lessexperienced NMIs were able to join the group, namely CEM, FER, JV, TUBITAK andCMI.Contact: Andrea Sosso, INRIM, [email protected].

6 Intercomparison of AC quantum voltage standardsBIPM has got a portable PJVS and aims to develop a comparison protocol for AC quan-tum standard in a similar way as the DC quantum standards. During the project a pio-neering intercomparison of PJVS has been arranged in 2017 and 2018 whithin BIPM,PTB, NPL using the portable BIPM AC quantum standard. The measurements were per-formed during several weeks at NPL and PTB. The work initiated in this project will befollowed by a BIPM project to establish the protocol

7 Acquisitions of PVJSBased on the knowledge transfered during the project, CEM and CMI are acquiring Pro-grammable Josephson Voltage Standard and TÜBİTAK improved application of existingPJVS. JV is planning investments to build up PJVS.
