Why use CallMD?

• With the nurse’s assistance, the doctor will update the member’s medical record. At the member’s request, the nurse will then forward the information to the member’s primary care physician.

• Within three to five business days, the nurse will follow up with the member.

• To access a doctor, members simply call 866-568-6720.

• A nurse answers the call and triages the member’s medical concern. If it is an emergency, the member will be instructed to call 911; if not, the nurse will take the member’s medical history and, without delay, refer the case to a doctor in the member’s state. Information regarding the member’s current medical concern and their medical history is forwarded to the selected doctor for review and action.

• As soon as a doctor is available (usually within one hour but not more than three hours), the nurse will connect the doctor and the member in a three-way call.

• Based on the information provided and the consultation between the member, doctor and nurse, the doctor will diagnose the problem and offer the member treatment instructions; the doctor may also prescribe a medication if this is necessary and/or appropriate for the diagnosis.
