Bridge Girders Heavy service, fabricated, dual web, box girder construction with diaphragms; designed in accordance with the latest CMAA specifications.
End Trucks Heavy duty, heavy service units fabricated as a reinforced box section for maximum lateral and torsional stiffness. The truck shall be designed so that the drop of the truck will be limited to one inch in the event of a bridge axle, wheel or bearing failure. Wheelbase will be 1/7 of bridge span or greater to facilitate proper bridge tracking. They will be equipped with rail sweeps that extend below the top of the runway rail and project in front of the bridge wheels. Mounting surfaces for the wheel assembly bearing housings are machined in reference to the line bore of the trucks to provide precise and permanent alignment. The reinforced truck frame absorbs lateral loading in the housing bore and not on the wheel assembly retaining bolts. When the wheel bearing housings are removed, the complete modified MCB type wheel assembly can be rolled out by jacking the crane 3/8”.
End Connection Girders are notched at the ends and set on top of the end trucks to assure accurate and level girder alignment in relation to the trucks. Oversized wing plates, shear angles and structural grade hardware (ASTM A325) form a high strength bolted connection to provide lifelong crane squareness. Permanent squaring marks are placed on the girders and recorded for future reference.
Bridge & Trolley Wheel Assemblies Rotating axle wheels are mounted in modified MCB type bearing housings with heavy duty, spherical roller bearings applied for a minimum L-10 bearing life of 10,000 hours. Wheels are double flanged, straight tread, forged alloy steel with hardened tread and rim surfaces to a minimum of 321 BHN.
Bridge Drives A-4 type bridge drives with shaft mounted gear motors and DC disc brakes. Motors are continuous inverter duty with class ‘F’ insulation, TEFC.
Bridge Bumpers Energy absorbing type will be provided on all four corners of the bridge and trolley; sized to CMAA standards for capacity and rate of deceleration; with safety cables where applicable; may include rubber, polyurethane or hydraulic.
Bridge Rail ASCE rail section securely fastened with welded rail clips, joint bars and shear bars to prevent rail creep.
Foot Walk Full length walkway with slip-resistant deck plate, toe guard and 42” high handrail with intermediate railing designed for a live load of 50 pound per square foot.
Disconnect Fused manual disconnect with lockout provision.
Crane Control Unitized front wired panel in NEMA 12 enclosure, consisting of mainline contactor, branch circuit fusing, thermal overload protection, variable frequency travel drives, flux vector hoist drives and dynamic braking resistors sized in accordance with CMAA service factors.
Hoist Reducer Triple reduction, parallel shaft, horizontally split gear reducer with AGMA quality 8 helical gearing sized in accordance with CMAA service factors. Fabricated steel housing is welded in fixture then thermally stress relieved. Bearing seats are line bored for proper alignment. Gearing operates in an oil bath splash lubrication system with a drain plug and sight gage. Large inspection covers are provided.
Hoist Motor Foot mounted NEMA frame, crane and hoist Vector duty, squirrel cage motor; TENV construction; 60 minute rated at 40˚C ambient; Class ‘H’ insulation; 1.0 SF; thermostats in all three phases; with industrial duty, C-face mounted encoder.
Trolley Frame Completely decked over trolley constructed of formed steel plate, welded then stress released.
Hoist Brake AC thruster shoe brake with ductile iron brake wheel mounted on extension of gearbox input pinion shaft with tapered bore and nut.
Wire Rope 6 x 37 Class, IWRC construction applied with a minimum of 5:1 safety factor on the static breaking strength; secured to the drum with external bolted rope clamps. Two dead wraps will remain on the drum with the hook extended to its lowest position.
Hoist Drum Fabricated steel weldment from seamless tube with stub shafts. Fully machined with left and right hand grooves to provide true vertical lift.
Limit Switch Hoists equipped with both geared upper and lower limit switches and upper block operated control circuit limit switches.
Trolley Drive Modified A-1 type trolley drive with shaft mounted gear motors and DC disc brakes. Motors are continuous inverter duty with class ‘F’ insulation, TEFC.
Couplings Flanged sleeve type flexible couplings with exposed bolts are laser aligned.
Upper Block Steel sheaves with sealed lifetime lubricated bearings accessible from the top of trolley deck.
Load Block Fully guarded fabricated steel frame with steel sheaves and sealed lifetime lubricated bearings, forged alloy steel safety hook mounted on thrust bearing to allow 360˚ manual rotation under load. Cross Conductor Flat PVC cable on I-Beam festoon system with the steel trolleys and cable glands.
Electrical Wiring Control and power wiring pass through rigid conduit to NEMA 12 junction boxes. All terminations are made in numbered terminal strips and labeled wires.
Pendant Ergonomic 8-button pendant station with two speed pushbutton in molded plastic construction, flexible cable and strain relief.
