"I determined that even if it cost me my life, I would have Jesus as the only Lord!”

FROM REJECTION TO

Born in the mountains of India, Pranay* grew up in a village bound by illiteracy, alcoholism, caste discrimination, superstition, witchcraft, and idol worship. While seeking to avenge his father’s death from witchcraft, he came across a program broadcast by TWR in his language. Pranay became a regular listener and the first believer in his village.

"I had so many social barriers to placing my full faith in Jesus,” explained Pranay, “but I determined that even if it cost me my life, I would have Jesus as the only Lord!” Pranay was filled with joy but had to flee the village for his own safety. The radio programs continued to encourage him: “The Lord spoke to me from John 14:6 that he is the way and the truth and the life, and this motivated me to overcome all my fears!"

Pranay attended seminary for three years but still faced the rejection of his village when he returned home. He humbly endured and shared his faith, though he faced much trouble. Then things changed: "One night, I got a call from a family in the village whose child was seriously ill. I went to them and prayed, and soon the child recovered.” The whole family came to believe in Jesus, and Pranay led six more families to the Lord.

That was four years ago, and Pranay still asks for TWR’s prayer support: “I need the support of prayer that the Lord will meet all my needs, help me overcome hardships, and fulfill his purposes in my life!"

Until Jesus comes back, we will have barriers to sharing the gospel: geographical isolation, religious persecution, trauma, hopelessness, and many others. But in Romans 8, Paul reminds us that no barrier can separate us from the love of God:

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

With global impact in 190 countries and 230 languages, TWR remains true to our calling to reach the world for Christ by mass media so that lasting fruit is produced. That means stewarding our resources to go beyond the barriers so that people around the world can find hope in Jesus Christ. Whether a soldier fighting for his life in Sudan, a lonely widow in Ukraine, or a secret believer from a Muslim background, none of these listeners can be separated from the love of God.

On the following pages are our most strategic ministry opportunities for the coming year, and along with barriers to the gospel, one of our biggest ministry barriers is funding. If God is leading you to go beyond barriers with the gospel through TWR, we are prepared to move as he provides. Thank you for your consideration, and may every spiritual blessing be yours.

HOPE BEYOND BARRIERS OF

"You are the ones who helped me see clearly that Jesus is the only way! I want the light of Jesus. I want to know him more. My family members do not know yet that I’ve accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.

In my country, I cannot declare my faith. I would be killed or at least persecuted.I am waiting to leave so I can live my faith openly, and until then I’ll sincerely be your number one listener and fan, and you are my church.”

– Listener in the Middle East

persecutıonHope for the Middle East

How can believers and seekers in the Middle East find a church when they are often isolated? Dan from Yemen gives a picture of what discipleship by radio looks like: “You, the TWR broadcast, are the reason for me knowing what’s in the Bible, the Bible that is forbidden for us in our countries! I’m from a Muslim background and now with Talmatha, and after accepting the Lord as my Savior, I’m being discipled at the feet of your program. I just want to tell you how thankful I am. Words can never deliver the right heart attitude that I have for your broadcast.” Just like Dan, countless other young believers, house church pastors, and lay leaders find spiritual nourishment through programs like Talmatha, Healing Touches, Youth in Mind, and Women of Hope, each program especially designed for a specific audience to give new believers and those from a Muslim background a strong biblical foundation. Our goal is $300,000 over the next year to keep these programs on the air.

Ministry to Muslims in AfricaMany of Africa’s unreached people groups are Muslim, and radical extremism is on the rise throughout the continent. Youth living with poverty, misery, and injustice are at risk of getting caught up in this extremism. The practice of Islam is constantly being reshaped by prevalent social, economic, and political conditions. But TWR’s powerful broadcasts are ideal for

reaching deep into the heartlands of Africa. The Way of Righteousness is a series that uses the stories of the Bible to distinguish between religious rituals and righteousness before God. TWR would like to produce this program in the Kiswahili language for East Africa. The Prophets is a new program we hope to produce in the Moore language for West Africa that is based on the lives of the prophets and points Muslims to Scripture. And we also have plans for an evangelistic program for the Yao people of Southeast Africa. TWR would like to raise $150,000 over the next year to make this multifaceted strategy possible among the Muslim peoples of Africa.

Spiritual Food for North Korea

“Without the programs and your love and dedication, we would not have access to the message of the gospel from our Father in heaven, and we would be lost in darkness.” This message came to us from a listener in North Korea, and another one

said: “We keep our faith and live as children of God among hardships and fierce persecution only because of the devotion of the TWR staff and the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The radio programs help us to grow in faith. It is great guidance in the Christian life as the contents are rich and meaningful. We use it to educate the next generation.” TWR continues to broadcast 11 programs into North Korea, including Bible reading and teaching, seminary training, children’s programs, and a worship service on the air. Your life-giving support allows our Korean staff to continue producing a full lineup of programs that might be the only spiritual food available to our North Korean listeners. Our goal for 2018 is $50,000.

Biblical Programs for the Silk Road Region

In the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, expressing interest in Christianity can mean

persecution in the form of tapped phone conversations, violent church raids, and exorbitant fines. The hostility can be felt from dictatorial authorities as well as intimate family and friends. Three of TWR's programs for Central Asia are designed to disciple first-generation Christians in God’s Word: The Way of Righteousness is a series of 100 radio programs that chronologically presents the stories of the biblical prophets and their clear messages from God. The Christian Home presents a model for biblical and healthy family relationships. And the Christian Youth program encourages young Christians to grow in faith and make wise decisions for the future. Each of these programs is offered in four or five languages spoken in Central Asia and will be aired from the new Silk Road Transmitter. TWR would like to raise $50,000 in the U.S. to support Central Asian programs over the next year.

New Programs for Filipino Muslims Although the Philippines is known as a Christian and Catholic country, the islands of Mindanao, Palawan, Basilan, and Jolo are predominantly Muslim. In fact, about 11 million Filipinos regard themselves as Muslims. In those areas, people affiliated with or heavily influenced by today’s global extremist groups are active and responsible for many incidents of violence. TWR Philippines wants to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and introduce the true peace of God in this region where emotional scars and religious animosity toward Christianity still linger from colonization. TWR Philippines wants to use The Prophets and The Way of Righteousness – programs designed especially for Muslim audiences – in the Cebuano language as contextual ways to reach out in the language and terms they understand. TWR's goal for the coming year is to raise $50,000 to produce, distribute, and broadcast these programs and follow up with listeners who respond.

Listeners who follow Christ in areas of religious persecution are at risk of discrimination, job loss, fines, imprisonment, or even physical harm and death. Please pray that our listeners will have hope during these trials and that the lives of the persecuted will be a testimony to those who seek to harm them.

“I grew up without knowing Jesus. I was born in a family of comfort and luxury, but I always felt an emptiness in my heart. It was a vacuum that family or wealth could not fill. We worshipped multiple gods as per the dictates of our religion, but my heart was never in it.Then I attended a prayer meeting with a Christian friend. I liked it very much and kept going, but my husband noticed that I was getting serious about this Jesus and forbade me to go again. My friend recommended a TWR radio program because I was not allowed to go where Jesus people gathered. I became a Christian secretly without my husband’s knowledge. The radio was my teacher and friend. When my husband passed away, I moved in with my parents, where I was forbidden to practice Christianity, but I had my radio. The programs led me through a process of knowing God. Despite the many hardships, I have never felt alone since the day I accepted Christ into my heart.”

Life-Changing Media for Indonesia

The vast archipelago of islands and hundreds of people groups that make up the country of Indonesia are also home to the largest population of Muslims in the world. TWR’s media ministry strategy in Indonesia includes more than 15 programs on the air in several languages, the distribution of the programs on audio players to listening groups, and listener gatherings where we can personally encourage listeners and hear their testimonies.

Several programs designed for the non-believer are resulting in feedback like this from a listener in Bali: “I am Balinese, and I was Hindu. People say that I am a Christian because I married a Christian man, but after listening to your program, I know that Jesus is my Savior and my Redeemer. Jesus amazes me and gives me the hope of eternal life. This news makes me believe in Jesus. Now I learn about Jesus little by little through the Figure program so that I am becoming a true Christian.” Our goal to support life-changing media for Indonesia is $45,000.

Truth for the Unreached of Nepal Nepal is one of the world's poorest nations, with many of its 30 million people living high in the Himalayan mountains. There are more than 100 people groups, but less than 1 percent of the population is Christian. Nepal, however, has 250 FM radio stations, and TWR has been airing programs in Nepal for many years over some of these stations. In 2017, we received 20,407 responses from listeners, and over the years, many of them have ac-

Members of other world religions contact TWR to tell us that they don’t have peace about what they’ve been taught. Some listeners don’t have any religion at all. They desperately want the truth, and when they hear the gospel programs, their eyes are opened. Please pray that TWR listeners who are Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, or Christians receiving false teaching will hear the truth of God’s Word and follow Jesus.

Page 8: overcoming barriers - TWR · 2019-08-01 · 4 • TWR MINISTRIES IN FOCUS 21219 HOPE BEYOND BARRIERS OF "You are the ones who helped me see clearly that Jesus is the only way! I want

cepted Christ as Savior and joined a lo-cal church. Now, TWR Nepal would like to expand its radio ministry to include programs for three of Nepal’s unreached people groups. Using the series of audio dramas from the SON-Lift Project underway in China, we would like to share the gospel with the Kham-Magar, the Tharu, and the Tamang people of Nepal. They are impoverished people groups that worship various gods and animals. Our goal for the coming year is to raise $20,000 to create these unique programs to share the love of Christ with more of the unreached in Nepal.

Radio Home Groups for Bangladesh The people of Bangladesh, mostly Muslims and Hindus, live in one of the most densely populated countries of the world. Christians make up less than 1 percent of the population. Ninety per-cent of the country is rural with a large portion of the people living without electricity. Churches lack trained lead-ers to provide biblical teaching, but in 2017, TWR began partnering with local churches in Bangladesh to distribute Bible-study programs on audio players or SD cards for mobile phones. Small listening groups called Radio Home Groups are being established to disciple believers, and training conferences are being organized to build up the church leadership. Our goal is to lead listeners toward a biblical worldview with system-atic Bible teaching and to strengthen local Christian leaders in the faith. To continue ministry in Bangladesh for the coming year, our goal is $25,000.

God’s Unique Book for Sri Lanka Sri Lanka is an island nation off the southern coast of India. While there are some Christians and Hindus, the majority adheres to Buddhism, and the environment for Christians can be difficult. TWR’s program called God’s Unique Book in the Sinhala and Tamil languages explains the messages of the Bible to a society of Buddhists and animists. Beginning with who God is and what makes him unique, the orality programs move through Scrip-ture from creation to the cross. TWR’s follow-up staff personally encourage listeners to form discussion groups in their homes to listen to the programs

together. About 425 listeners get in touch with TWR each month. One listener wrote, “I am a Buddhist, but after hearing your message today, it in-creased my faith in Jesus. I have been paralyzed for 20 years. After listening to your program, I madly trust in this Jesus.” A gift of $25,000 will help TWR to continue the production and airing of these important programs.

Shine 800 AM Bonaire “In my prayers, I ask the All-Powerful to make it possible for that beautiful station, from which we receive our nutrition from your teachings, to be heard 24 hours a day in Venezue-la. You are a great blessing,” writes Isabel. People like Isabel are search-

ing for spiritual nourishment in Latin America. Whether it’s the shallow spread of the prosperity gospel in Cuba or the economic chaos in Vene-zuela that has left its people literally starving, Latin America needs gospel transformation as much as anywhere. With our newly upgraded 450,000-watt station called Shine 800 AM Bo-naire, we can reach all of Cuba, some of the unreached people groups of the Amazon, and many areas in between. Our goal of $100,000 for this project will cover some of the electricity costs of the transmitter while also helping us to keep about 25 programs in Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous languages on the air, including crisis radio programs for Venezuela.

A Season of Hope in Japan An elderly woman showed up at a Japanese church and told the pastor, “I am not a Christian yet, but I believe God has sent me here.” She had received a tract from a TWR ministry team going door to door to share the gospel and hand out broadcast schedules of TWR’s Japanese radio programs. She and others like her are an answer to our prayers that God would send a revival among the Japanese, who have been called the second largest unreached people group in the world. TWR is airing six programs on 16 FM stations in Japan and on shortwave from Guam for a total of more than 200 hours of programming each month in an area of almost 8 million people. But the exciting part is to see a new openness to the gospel among the Japanese people in recent years, partly due to the natural disasters that have caused the Japanese to search for the truth and consider their eternity. Your gift toward our goal of $90,000 will help us to continue sharing the hope of Christ in Japan.

Strategic Studio in Colombia In Colombia, drug trafficking and corruption mean that rural, impoverished villages are controlled by gangs. Because churches and Christians are seen as a threat to criminal and paramilitary groups,

“Finally, I have time to thank you for your steady broadcast as we were in the dark from Hurricanes Irma and Maria for almost five months.I listened often on a high-powered receiver. Yes, I continue to listen every night when the signal is best. You were a reassuring presence during the months with no power or communications. As you can imagine, our tourism is at an all-time low, work is sparse, and many continue to leave the island in search of employment. Although we may not be in the mainstream news, the world is still here, helping out in many forms. Keep up the great work.”

they are targets for persecution. The church in Colombia needs feeding and encouragement, yet every year dozens of pastors are killed. Capitalizing on the end of the 40-year guerrilla war and building on the positive responses to our strengthened signal from Shine 800 AM Bonaire, TWR would like to establish a studio in Colombia equipped to take on Spanish program production. The studio in Colombia would be a great

support to TWR’s office and studio in Venezuela, which is a major hub for TWR's Spanish production but is now facing difficulties. Due to the economic collapse, the staff is using a generator to record programs and spending extra time to find food to survive. TWR is seeking $50,000 to complete the studio in Colombia and build up our ministry in a country that desperately needs the hope of Christ.

Voice of a Friend for Belarus TWR in Belarus produces seven radio programs, but six of them are in Russian so as to be understood by Ukrainians and Russians as well as Belarusians. Only one of them, Voice of a Friend, is in the Belarusian heart language. Voice of a Friend is produced for listeners who need encouragement from God’s Word, some of whom live in small villages

without any church. For others, radio is their only source of spiritual nourishment. Among the topics discussed are trusting God, marriage and the family, building character in youth, and responsibility in the Christian life. Besides dealing with political and economic instability, Belarusians still suffer the effects of the 1986 nuclear disaster in Ukraine. More than half the radioactive fallout fell on Belarus, resulting in environmental, economic, and psychological devastation and thousands of lives lost. Radiation-related health problems still occur at a very high rate. TWR would like to raise $20,000 to support this important program for encouraging the people of Belarus.

Treasures of Wisdom for Bosnia “You are like my church,” writes one Bosnian listener. “Every Sunday I listen to the Treasures of Wisdom program, and it is the one that keeps me spiritually alive. It is not easy to be far away from other believers, but your program makes it much easier. Please pray for me, and I will pray for you.” Bosnia has less than 130 kilometers of highway, and unless a believer lives in or around towns like Sarajevo, Zenica, or Banja Luka, there is no opportunity to regularly attend church services. Treasures of Wisdom provides a lifeline for these isolated Christians and aims to be non-confrontational to appeal to a wider audience, including those

who identify culturally as Muslims. TWR is seeking $30,000 to continue programming to reach this nation beset by entrenched ethnic and religious divides, a large and growing Islamic presence, and an infrastructure still crippled by the effects of civil war from 1992 to 1995.

Generator for KTWR Guam Since the 1970s, TWR has been broadcasting across Asia from our shortwave station, KTWR, on the island of Guam with a reach into countries such as Afghanistan, India, China, Pakistan, Indonesia, North Korea, Vietnam, and Australia. TWR’s team of missionary engineers, mechanics, and computer technicians maintain six antenna arrays and three high-power transmitters. Having a stable electricity supply is vital to our broadcast operations, but typhoons and tropical cyclones that are common to the Pacific can knock out power lines or the island power plants. Having a backup generator keeps us on the air, but our current generator is 24 years old and runs the transmitters at only 50 percent power. Plus, replacement parts are hard to find. We plan to increase our broadcast hours at KTWR, and a new generator is critical to powering all three transmitters and adding more in the future. TWR is seeking God’s provision of $155,000 toward this multi-year project to replace the KTWR back-up generator.

Millions of people throughout the world are scarred or displaced by circumstances beyond their control: floods, war, earthquakes, and economic collapse. Many more languish in poverty. The comfort of God’s Word is their strength. Please pray that our listeners will be comforted by Scripture as they persevere through these trials. Pray that difficult times will cause many hearts to turn to the eternal Father.

RiverCross: Bridges to Hope for Vulnerable Children A majority of the world’s orphans have faced physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, and even if they are taken in by loving caregivers, their hearts need healing. Through the ministry of River Cross, an audio-drama series called Holding Esther has been developed to train orphan caregivers in Zambia in how to protect children from further abuse and facilitate their healing. A second series, Jabota Bridge, has been produced to speak directly to the chil-dren. To date, 280 orphan caregivers have been trained to use Holding Esther with the children in their care. We already know of perpetrators arrested because of Holding Esther, and instanc-es of healing in Zambian communities have taken place. TWR’s partners on other continents, as well as ministries like Compassion International, are ask-ing for the audio dramas, but more sup-port is needed to expand in Africa and beyond. Our goal to keep expanding the ministry of RiverCross is $220,000.

TWR Women of Hope Though each woman’s story is unique, it is obvious many women face signifi-cant challenges simply because they are women. Abuse, lack of education, and harmful cultural practices can have dev-asting effects that leave them ignorant of basic health and hygiene, unable to work their way out of poverty, and at risk of early marriage and increased maternal mortality rates. How can we reach those beyond the grasp of our knowledge, let

alone our physical grasp? For more than 20 years, the Women of Hope radio and digital program, now in 73 languages, has been introducing women to the gospel and teaching them practical skills and spiritual truth. By addressing topics such as human trafficking, spiritual growth, and discipleship, we are seeing God do incredible work in the hearts of hurting women. Will you help these women find their hope in Jesus? We are trusting God to provide $550,000 in needed funding to reach women around the world with the gospel.

Crosswave Youth Outreach in India Like young people everywhere, the post-modern youth of India are glued to their smartphones using the internet and social media to explore answers to their questions about relationships, addictions, suicidal thoughts, and many other issues of growing up. It is not an audience that typically listens to AM or FM radio, and TWR's staff in South Asia wants to meet them right where they are and introduce them to Jesus Christ. The Crosswave youth outreach is a series of online videos designed to reach a gener-ation with many media content choices. A second and important component to the project is to have a team of counsel-ors in place to personally guide search-ing young people in biblical choices and worldview. TWR's director for South Asia puts it this way: "My passion is that the name of Christ should be heard on this platform and that the spirit of God will use it to influence the lost toward his kingdom." Our goal is to raise $15,000 to put these videos and a follow-up team in place to serve the youth of India.

PANI Broadcasts

From TWR’s broadcasts into Pakistan, Afghanistan, and North India (PANI), we receive about 400 responses each month from those who want to know more about Jesus. As they hear about him in their heart languages, they are asking good questions and con-sidering his teachings. The programs cover the stories of the Old Testament prophets, healthy family relationships, testimonies of new believers, and how to start a home church. A listener in Afghanistan said, “I learned to be a believer from TWR, and I can tell you with all my heart that I am a believ-er in Jesus. I learned to live humbly from you people. I am an educated man and had several good jobs, but then I got diabetes and lost my vision, which was very hard for me, but from the programs I learned that God loves me.” A gift to our goal of $180,000 for the coming year will help TWR to continue introducing Muslims to the Savior in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and North India.

Men’s Ministry Initiatives TWR is involved in several fast-grow-ing outreaches to men that are coming together as a new ministry of the TWR family. The Champions Arise radio program was launched in response to the call of our listeners for a program specifically for men. Champions Arise brings together ma-terial from several men’s ministries to create topics relevant to men’s lives today, including the pervasive-ness and dangers of pornography.

Champions Arise episodes are now available in 12 languages with new programs being developed continual-ly, and monthly prayer calendars are distributed in 14 languages. Along with on-the-ground men’s disciple-ship groups that are forming by the dozens in several countries, all these initiatives are calling men to spend time daily in the Word of God, em-body Christ’s example of humility and integrity, and build Christ-honoring relationships. Feedback is pouring in from men who are blessed and wom-en whose prayers for godly leadership

in the home are being answered. TWR would like to raise $160,000 to continue to bless men who are hun-gry for the life-changing Word of God in their lives.

People who are hurting or traumatized, especially children, can have a hard time moving past their fear and depression to a place of healing. They need the spiritual and emotional freedom of God’s Word and a relationship with the greatest friend who ever lived – Jesus Christ. Please pray that those who have experienced abuse, trafficking, abandonment, broken relationships, and other losses will hear about Jesus and accept him as Savior.

SON-Lift Project for China

Five years ago, TWR’s Chinese ministry team set a multi-year goal to reach out to 106 unreached people groups in China. The SON-Lift project was born as 60 dramatized Bible stories about the life of Jesus in each of 15 languag-es understood by these groups. Today, seven of the language productions are complete, with the others in various stages of development. Each SON-Lift episode includes a Bible story, music, an explanation of the gospel, and a prayer. They are being made available across a variety of media platforms including radio, social media, and audio players loaded with the SON-Lift episodes and an audio Bible. As part-nering church members inside China have taken the media players into the homes of potential listeners and shared the gospel, some have received Christ right on the spot. They realize that the gospel really is good news, and we are eager to complete all 15 language pro-ductions. Our goal for the coming year is $200,000.

TWR MOTION When the beautifully illustrated ani-mations of the Share the Story Bible videos were released this year in an Arabic dialect for North Africa, we began to receive responses like this: “I am a teenager from a Muslim family. When I read the gospel, I feel drawn to the Messiah, his sayings, and his deeds, and I have believed in him that he is my Savior.” TWR MOTION is TWR’s visual-media ministry with many video productions about missions, but Share the Story is its first project for an unreached people group. The result among these North Africans has been amazing, and we are eager to translate the series into other languages, includ-ing sign language, to point more of the unreached to Jesus. YouTube and other video outlets are some of the most ac-cessed forms of media today, and your gift toward our goal of $54,000 will help us to make the gospel available in video form to more people groups.

TWR360: Online Access to 100 Languages While radio is still a primary form of media in many homes around the world, a big part of the mass media world today is digital, and TWR is

leading the way in developing digital tools for spreading the gospel. TWR360.org is our online source of Christian content in multiple languages, and people go to it more than 1 million times each month for inspiring messages, music and radio streaming, HD videos, sermon podcasts, audio Bibles, the JESUS film, and more from TWR and over 200 of our like-minded ministry partners. An app is also available with more people downloading the app in Iran than any other country. People are accessing TWR360 from 231 countries and territories each month, a truly global reach.

Our current goal is to have Christian content in 100 languages on twr360.org by the end of 2018.We would like to raise $200,000 to support this expanding digital ministry of TWR.

TWR has always been committed to reaching each listener in his or her mother tongue – the heart language – because the gospel speaks to the heart. There are still languages without God’s Word, including versions of sign language. Please pray that TWR’s projects in visual media, digital media, and radio will help us to overcome barriers of communication that lead our listeners to discover Jesus for the first time.

The Silk Road Transmitter

For a small window of time after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the people of Central Asia enjoyed freedom of religion. Sadly, however, Christians say the persecution they face today feels similar to their years under com-munist rule. First-generation believers who meet in groups risk rejection and persecution, which is why radio is such an essential tool for discipleship. In January 2017, our broadcast time slots were reduced due to a govern-ment-owned transmitter at this location being taken out of service. Now, TWR has the opportunity to install our own 200,000-watt replacement transmitter that we are calling the Silk Road Trans-mitter. This powerful signal will increase our coverage area and provide more programs that reach across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Northwest China with the good news of Jesus. TWR is seeking $593,000 to commission the Silk Road Transmitter. Will you prayerfully consider joining us?

Global MediaOutreach Fund

Does sharing the gospel by mass media really work? A man paralyzed for 30 years lay on his bed, unable to move. That was his life, and he thought, “Why live?” But then with a radio by his ear, he heard about God’s love from TWR and began to ponder, “Does God have a purpose for my life?” Through social media, he en-couraged others trapped by disabilities to listen to TWR, and a listening club

of over 200 people was formed. Today, he uses his voice to teach the Bible to his social network and has completed TWR’s online seminary in the Mandarin language. For over 60 years, we have been hearing from listeners like this.

A man in Africa said, “I was about to commit murder, but your program stopped me.” Others have been pulled back from committing suicide, getting abortions, and many other situations because God intervened with just the

right message. Your support of TWR’s Global Media Outreach, our general fund, helps us to keep our global op-erations going year after year. Our goal for this next fiscal year is $2,200,000.

"As a discreetlistener of your Bible teaching program,I am really close to being persuaded, especially considering the relevance ofyour messages.I would like to give my life to God and lead a quiet Christian life, because I am afraid of the mockery of people around me, persecution, and rejection by those I love. Can you also send me CDs and a Bible in the Bambara language?"
