The NHCTA show – Dolls and Guys – Best Production!

Congratulations to all involved in The Actorsingers production of "Dolls and Guys" at the NHCTA festival competition in September. The show was selected as Best Production and will go on to the Regional competition! Lindsay Vago, Ben Levine and Dan Merriman received Outstanding Achievement in Acting awards while Diana Hill was awarded Best Stage Manager, Eric Hill was awarded Outstanding Lighting achievement and Don Smith-Weiss and Chuck Emmons received awards for Outstanding achievement in Set Design. Kudos also to actors Cheryl Stocks, Caryl Sullivan and Director Chuck Emmons. A special Thank you to Ben Levine who stepped in at the last minute, learned his lines and went on to win an award! The preview performance given at Actorsingers Hall was certainly an evening of Improv as the electricity was out and the cast performed admirably in the soft glow of candles and flashlights. The show must go on! Well done! ******************************************************************************************

Condolences

To The Lovering Family on the death of Kathy’s Mother

To Larry Doiron on the death of his beloved wife, Dawn

To Allison and Lou Duhamel on the death of JoAnn and also on the death of Lou’s sister

And, for those who remember our Actorsingers chorus, Don Page passed away in June

Page 5: Ovation October 2014

For those who didn’t know her, JoAnn Duhamel worked tirelessly on many Actorsingers shows. Her assistance with costumes went above and beyond. She helped backstage over the years when her daughter, Allison, was in a show or her husband, Lou, was working behind the scenes. Even when she became ill, she was there sewing and stitching. Les Miserables, in the fall of 2013, was the last show she wove her costume magic before she became too ill to continue. JoAnn passed away last month. She will be greatly missed.

The Actorsingers dedicate this season to her.

In and About Town – So much news since the last newsletter!…Mea Culpa for not including Eric Skoglund, who starred as the MC in Majestic’s Cabaret, in the last Ovation. Amy Agostino is in Acting Out Theater Company’s Sweeney Todd in Lawrence, MA. A hearty pat on the back to Don Higgins who stepped in at the last minute to help Not Your Mom’s Musical Theatre’s Something Wonderful I Missed in September, while Jessica Plummer sang in the musicals of 1984 back in July. Kerry Schneider and Stuart Harmon contributed to all the laughter in the Palace Theatre’s recent The Full Monty. Kerry will be working with Eric Skoglund in Norman, Is That You? for Stage One’s Dinner theater. This will be the last Stage One production at the Chateau restaurant in Manchester. Dan Merriman was featured in Manchester Community Player’s The Sound of Music, but it was Marc and Sarah Murai’s young daughter, Cassie, who stole the show as Gretel. Good luck to Sarah DeLisle in her new home and Jessica Plummer in hers. Shawna Ciampa was in the show Two Boys Lost in Cambridge. Karina Belano Carney did a staged reading of In Search of Our Father: Sylvester Stallone at Central Square Theater in Cambridge. Joe Vago has a lot on his plate with a new job and as the new Director of the 13th Annual New Hampshire Theatre Awards show. The show is Directed by Joel and Laura Iwaskiewicz and Judy Hayward. And speaking of Joel and Laura - Congratulations on your wedding! Dana Siegel performed in Love Letters at the Backstage Bistro of North Shore Music Theater as a fundraiser for Voices of Hope (Cancer awareness) back in August. Marilyn Valentine was in Nashua Theater Guild’s Post Mortem. Debra Buckley was in New London Barn’s Over the Pub this past summer and just finished her run of Into the Woods for Northern Stage…and good luck in your new job.
