BIKESANTA FE BIKE RIDE Tue., Sep. 10; Thu., Sep. 19; 5:30-8 p.m. Come for the ride, the fresh air, the exercise, meet people, discover the world of cycling or just enjoy a low cost family activity. This ride has something for everyone. Bike ride from Outdoor Rec. 15 miles south (downhill) down the Santa Fe trail to America the Beau-tiful Park. A van will be waiting to bring you back up. Space is limited. Ages: 12+. Cost is $5, kids under 16 are free but still need to sign up.

ASPEN & GLENWOOD SPRINGS OVERNIGHT BIKE RIDE FOR TWO Sat.-Sun., Sep. 14-15. Meet 8 a.m. on Sat, return around 7 p.m. Sun. We’ll drive to the beginning of Glenwood Canyon. From there you will ride through the beautiful 1300+ ft deep narrow canyon along the river to Glenwood springs (about 16 mi) to spend the night. Feel free to go explore the areas activities and we can shuttle you to the hot springs. Sunday, get up and drive to Aspen and then ride back to Glenwood Springs down the Rio Grande Trail (about 34 mi). Both routes are “slightly downhill” bike paths. Lodging is at “Quality Inn on the River”. Rent a bike for ½ price. Activity includes: transportation, lodging (2 queen beds, hot tub, pool, breakfast) and guide. Activity is limited to four couples, so sign up early. Cost: $295.

VAIL PASS TO BRECKENRIDGE Sat., Sep. 21; 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Start on Vail Pass, at 10,666 feet and descend hundreds of feet through Copper Mountain, cruise and traverse the forested Blue River Bikeway on your way into Breckenridge. This downhill trip is a total of 22 miles and follows a two-lane, paved path for its entirety. May be a great time to catch the changing leaves. Activity includes: transportation, guide, support and snack lunch. Ages: 12+. Cost: $45

ENGLEWOOD LOOP BIKE RIDE Sun., Sep 22; 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. 31miles of Beautiful Bike path, 1243 feet total climbing (mostly over 4 hills). You may have seen part of this route driving on C-470 and thought “that looks like fun”, well that is the least fun part of this whole ride. The rest goes through beautiful wooded areas, follows creeks and next to and through golf courses. You should be comfortable riding at 10 – 15 mph, and able to ride 31 miles with hills. Guides will help you but there is no vehicle support. Please carry a repair kit with extra tubes that fit your bike. Activity includes: transportation, guide. Cost: $35.

SHELF ROAD BIKE RIDE Sat., Sep. 28; 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Meet at Outdoor Rec. Start-ing in Cripple Creek and ending in Canon City. Shelf Road drops 3,650 feet in elevation over its 25-mile route and does have a few small climbs. Half paved road and half dirt road, we’ll see historical points of interest, and with any luck, a few bighorn sheep and other wildlife. Activity includes: transpor-tation, guide, support and snack lunch. Note: this is a dirt road with vehicle support, not single track. Ages: 16+. Cost $35.

VAIL PASS TO KEYSTONE Sat., Oct 5t; 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Meet at Outdoor Rec. R4R ELIGIBILTY: The Recharge for Resiliency initiative is directed specifically toward the Active Duty and Reserve members to include their families at each base. This means that retirees, civilians and foreign military are not eligible for these R4R discounted rates. Our portable climbing tower can accommodate up to 4 climbers at a time, is 35ft tall, and comes with all the staff and equipment necessary. RAFT/KAYAKAll trips meet and depart from the east side of the Outdoor Recreation Center (where the camping trailers are parked) at 6:45 a.m. and return about 5 p.m.

All rafting trips include: Transportation from the Academy to the Arkansas River and back, all rafting equipment and required personal gear, lunch, permits, and guides. Our primary concern is for your safety. All guides are state-certified and hold a First Aid and CPR certification.

ROYAL GORGE FULL DAY – CLASS IV-V Sun., Sep. 1. Our trips always operate on class 4-5 whitewater and may include sections of river such as the Royal Gorge and Big Horn Sheep Canyon depending on water levels. This trip is for folks who want to step up the adrenaline and feel the thunder! Not for meek or weak! Minimum age is 16 & 50+ Lbs. Cost: $95. Custom dates at the same rates are also available mid week!

BIG HORN-FULL DAY –CLASS III (IV HIGH WATER) Sep. 1, 7. Our Family Class rafting trips are great for first timers, groups of varying experience, kids, and family/squadron fun. These trips operate on class 3 whitewater, and during the early season, sometimes have one or two class IV rapids as well. Big Horn Sheep Canyon is our primary location for this trip. Cost: $75/Adult & $65/Child (ages 6-12 & 50+ Lbs). Custom dates at the same rates are also available mid week!

DUCKY DAY Fri., Sep. 6; 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Burn those hot days away on the river in your own inflatable kayak. ‘Duckies’ as we call them are one of the most fun ways to experience the river without needing a great deal of experience. We will take you to a section with a couple rapids and fun float sections. A great way to float away the day! Ages: 12+. Cost: $65/person. Activity includes: guide and lunch. Max 8 people.

END OF SUMMER PARTY AT FARISH Mon., Sep. 2; 2 p.m. Come join us at Farish Rec Area to for the final party of the summer on Labor Day, located at the Main Pavilion next to beautiful Lake Leo. Activities include: bounce house, canoes, backyard games and Dutch oven cooking! If you catch a fish you can bring it over to cook with recipes on hand and we provide the sides and dessert. Cost: $20 for adults and $15 for 12 & under. This includes entrance to Farish, a pass to enjoy all of the activities and the Dutch oven sides and dessert. USAFA fishing permit is not included but can be purchased at Farish front office or at Isportsman.net

CPR, AED AND FIRST AID RE-CERTIFICATION Tue., Sep. 10 (registration closes Wed., Sep. 4, 6 p.m.) This is a hybrid recertification course that includes three hours of online training and two hours of skill test. The online training link will be sent to you one week prior to the scheduled skills test and must be completed before attending the skills class. Registration will close one week prior to the scheduled skills test. You must be able to provide proof of previous certifica-tion and not have exceeded expiration of certification by more than 30 days. Cost: $50/person.

DUTCH OVEN COOKING CLASS Fri., Sep. 20; 5:30-9 p.m. Learn proper heat management and some great recipes. We will cook up an entire meal. The best part, we sit down and eat our work at the end of class! Class is limited to 8 ovens, so sign up early. Class and recipes are planned as if you were camping, so cook times are 30 – 60 minutes long and ingredients are camping friendly. (Dutch Ovens, and all food included) Cost: $25 per oven (Bring one guest for free)

OUTDOOR LASER TAG Sun., Sep. 1; noon - 2:30 p.m. Meet at FamCamp. Our 6-pound metal guns with red dot sights look like MP5s and use harmless infrared technology. We will set up a variety of games that will test your individual skills as well as how well you work together as a team. Activity includes: Refs, and needed gear. Or you can set up a Special Group Arrangements (SGA’s) for friends, units, team building activities, birthdays and more for 150 minutes for only $200. FARISH VOLKSMARCH Sat., Oct. 5, 8 a.m.-Noon. at Farish Recreation Area (multi-purpose center). Gate fee waived for participants. Partnership with Falcon Wanderers (local AVA chapter). Free 10km hike, $3 for IVV Credit (passport stamped). Cash snack bar: soda, water, gatorade, brats, hot dogs, chips, cookies.

SPLASH DAYS Schedule your Group for a private program! We will bring out all of our floatable things such on Kettle Lakes on base for you to try out and play in the water. We will also provide some grilled food and refreshments. Ages: 9+ and 50+ lbs. for water activities. Cost: $30/person. Reserve your spot 72 hours in advance.

ORC INFO & POLICIES

• Full payment for all trips is due at time of registration.

• Cancellations within 72 hours of the activity date will NOT be refunded or rescheduled unless otherwise stated.

• Cancellations 30 days or more before a multi-day activity start date are refundable in full unless otherwise stated. Cancellations within 30 days of a multi-day activity will not be refunded unless someone takes your place on the activity. Any refunds issued in this case will result in a service fee of 10% of the total price for the activity.

• “No Shows” are non-refundable and will not be rescheduled.

• All trips are subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather or conditions outside of our control. In this event, the trip will be rescheduled or you may opt for a refund minus irretrievable deposits. In the case of cancellation due to insufficient participation, a full refund will be issued.

• Refunds may be given at any time when a medical emergency or military TDY/PCS orders prohibit participation. A signed doctor’s note or signed orders must be presented in order to receive a refund in these cases. If a refund is given for a multi-day trip in this instance, OAP will retain a service fee of 10% of the total price for the activity.
