Part of a raft of recent changes affecting the profession, Outcomes-Focused Regulation pervades every
aspect of a firm’s operations. Integrating the letter and spirit of the new framework into work practices,
documents and processes is vital to remain compliant - yet many firms still have no clear strategy.
Though deadlines for nomination of the new required compliance officers loom large, there is still time to
get it right.
In partnership with Hardee Consulting, Executive Transitions invites you to a free seminar to help you
understand Outcomes-Focused Regulation and the expectations of the SRA. The event will inform
current thinking, add insight and, where necessary, help you to develop a plan and set a timescale for
delivery. To ensure this is relevant to your firm, the format of the morning will be a seminar followed by a
‘clinic’ session, where specific issues can be discussed.
Speaker: Melissa HardeeMelissa Hardee is a solicitor with considerable expertise in regulation. Melissa was a partner at CMS
Cameron McKenna for eight years, with responsibility for training, knowledge management and quality,
before taking the unusual step of moving into education proper and heading up the Legal Practice Course
at City University London, which became the only “Excellent”-graded LPC in London. Melissa’s
involvement in regulation has spanned much of the past 13 years, both as member and chair of various
law society and SRA committees and working groups, as well as commentator. In 2008 Melissa set up
Hardee Consulting, an international consultancy specialising in advising professional service firms,
regulators and educational institutions. Melissa wrote one of the chapters in the first book on the Legal
Services Act 2007, as well as her own book, "Legal Education & Training : A Practical Guide for Law Firms",
published by Lexis Nexis in 2010. Most recently Melissa has been advising and and training firms on the
new OFR regime. Melissa is Senior Vice-President of the City of Westminster & Holborn Law Society, as
well as chair of the Society’s Training Committee.
