MLC Report:Nothing this month.

Building:Building committee recommended Beckenhauer for contractor. TSP reducing cost on some areas by not

cutting, but removing certain parts. Of all, youth and kitchen first, Narthex finished, Traditional mostly done, Contemporary will be plain jane using what we have for now, ten look at it later. Start about October 9th, with about 9 months construction, done about June 2018. About 440 pledges received. Contract will be setup to do Gift in Kind, donation of labor to the church.

Life groups going well. 12 groups right now. Some getting ready to start.Ryan, Troy and John headed to Texas for Stephen Ministry training.10 people at Bel Air, have a Chapel service for them. About 6 or more at a location have a

Chapel, unless our members fall below that.New member class last Saturday. About 30 new families this year. Might switch back to multi

week classes at new building. Discussed how to do new member classes, currently about 82% of recent classes attending worship.

Spiritual care, John spoke about to refocus BLM to more spiritual care. Bylaws read.Ministry group forming, start meetings 1 hour before BLM meeting.

New BusinessBLM and MLC nominations need 2 months to be open. We are 1 month late.Going over who is off and still on.July will be the voting for BLM and MLC.

(Attachment VI-OSL Constitution Article 11)

Article 11Election, Removal from Office, and Vacancies

A. NominationThe Mission Leadership Council shall annually appoint a Nominating Committee whose responsibility will be to develop a slate of candidates for officers, Board of Lay Ministry members and Mission Leadership Council members to be elected each year. The committee shall contain a majority who are not Mission Leadership Council members, shall function for one year only, and shall report their nominations to the election meeting of the Voters’ Assembly. The Senior Pastor shall be a non-voting member of the Nominating Committee.

All nominees shall be voting members of the age of majority in the State of Nebraska, noted for their Christian knowledge, zeal, and experience in the spiritual work in the Kingdom. Specific criteria for elected officials shall be outlined by the Nominating Committee prior to accepting any nominations. In addition to the Nominating Committee’s slate of candidates, any voting member may nominate candidates. A call for nominations will be distributed to the congregation no less than two months prior to the election meeting. The list of nominations will be closed at the time that the meeting agenda and slate of candidates is distributed.

Those elected by the voters may not receive compensation from the congregation. Members of the Mission Leadership Council may not lead any group that reports directly to the Mission Leadership Council, except a Call Committee or the Nominations Committee.

B. ElectionNominees who receive a majority of the ballots cast at the Voters’ Assembly shall be the elected.

C. Removal from Office of Elected OfficialsAny elected official, who is unable or is willfully neglectful in the performance of his official duties, may be removed from office by two-thirds secret ballot vote of the Voters’ Assembly. The Mission Leadership Council shall initiate such action.

D. VacancyThe Mission Leadership Council shall be authorized to appoint a person to fill an unexpired term of an officer, a member of the Mission Leadership Council and a member of the Board of Lay Ministry.
