PBS KIDS is the number one educational media brand and Nine’s online toolkit streamlines those resources for educators and caregivers to help kids learn and thrive. The toolkit includes a two-week schedule of trusted PBS KIDs shows, along with learning goals and related activities and resources.

The Educator and Caregiver Toolkit was created with guidance from education leaders across the region and includes broadcast, online, and mobile resources, as well as learning tools and tips that can be text messaged to phones.

At-Home Learning with Nine Nine has always been an innovator in educational television. KETC/Channel 9 was founded in 1954 to provide public education and encourage dialogue on topics that affect civic life. We remain true to that mission today.

Educator and Caregiver Toolkit

After watching Let's Go Luna and learning about the U.S. and China, Dytania Harris’ daughters, Madison (left) and Alysia (right), discovered the continent of Asia and made flags of both countries.

Nine broadcasts PBS KIDS shows on two channels, Nine PBS and Nine PBS KIDS – the only free, over-the-air 24/7 television service for children in our region. The broadcast and online streaming service ensure high-quality, educationally based programming is available to every child, anytime and anywhere.

“[PBS KIDS] resources are so valuable during such uncertain and stressful times. ...The TV shows are educational, but the activities take learning even further!”

—Dytania Harris, mom and educator

Our Region’s Largest Classroom!

On Teaching in Room 9, a team of educators from across

the region teach 30-minute classes in literacy, math, social

studies, and science for students in pre-k through third grade.

The curriculum is informed by area education leaders and the

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Through our on-air lessons and the online toolkit for

caregivers, Nine is making an impact on our region’s early

learners, today and for years to come.
