About our school

In 1906 Miss Frances Bardsley was determined to offer girls in this area a

first class education and the opportunity to develop their skills, abilities and self confidence.

The school

• This is the front gates of our school.

• The school is 100 years old. It was created in 1906

• The Frances Bardsley Academy is a girls’ only school.

Our Head teacherMr Julian Dutnall

He is a very good head teacher, and he is very strict on rules but he can have a laugh.

He wants us all to work hard and have fun in school.

Rules

• We listen to staff and follow instructions straight away

• We bring the right equipment for learning• We listen to other pupils when contributing to

class• We raise our hands and wait to ask or answer a

question• We respect other peoples and their property

• We usually have assemblies 2 times a week in the hall. Sometimes we sing the school hymns and other religious hymns as well.

More questions ..Would you like to wear a uniform and if so what would it be like?We wear dark green blazers and skirts and different coloured chequered shirts :yellow for year 7 & 8 (sixième et cinquième)blue for years 9 & 10 (quatrième et cinquième)and plain white for year 11 (seconde). In winter we wear tights but can wear white socks in spring and summer.
