Our Photo-shoot

Page 2: Our Photo Shoot 2

This was our first shot of our two models together, from taking the first picture we found the distance between the models to look to awkward and as the song is about being in love we felt it repelled this idea. The lighting in the first shot we felt to be dark and unclear so in our next take of the shot we used the flash on the camera to see if this created a clearer image. Although our second take was clearer we still felt the positioning of the models still felt awkward. To overcome this idea we positioned her behind him in order to show her insignificance in comparison to the male model. The fact that we have taken this shot from a close up allows the image to be clearer, I felt the light in the background is successful as it creates a great seasonal ambience which is what the whole album reflects.

This next angle we thought about positioning a great deal, we were aiming to frame our model two thirds of the way up the shot in order to make the models the centre focus of the shot. We were trying to capture the closeness of the two models as the song in which we are using is about a close relationship and we wanted the models to prepare and practise the positioning. I feel the background in these pictures allows again the models to stand out and make them the main focus. As you can see from bellow it took us three shots in order to get the ideal shot we wanted this was time consuming and is a factor in which we must bare in mind whilst filming.

In these next shots we wanted to create different looks and poses from our model and use different backgrounds to see the range in which he photographs. The first shot we found the shot to be un-natural and seems as though our album represents nature and real life we felt this was an in accurate picture in which to use. The second shot I like I feel it captures the mise en scene around the model and brings the picture to life. The fact that the model looks wind swept also co-insides with the image of winter and the up-coming seasons. My only criticism of the second photo I would give is that the models face isn't clear enough as it is to dark. The last shot I also like it has a relaxed look and the model is looking into the camera portraying the emotional upset in his eyes, the viewer will be able to connect with this and this will make it attract potential buyers. The lighting in this last picture I feel has been captured well as it goes from dark to light creating that feel of time and seasons.

For these next three shots we decided to use the guitar in the shots in order to make our model look authentic and to tie the music in on the image. The first shot and the last shot I feel the model looks un-natural and un-comfortable with the guitar and looks to staged and seems though we are looking to capture a natural looking shot we don’t feel these two pictures were successful due to this. The last shot we added a flash on the camera to see the effects in had, from using the flash we found that it created a rock look which is not the genre of music in which we are trying to reflect and in turn makes the model looked staged and un-natural. The middle shot is the one in which I found successful as I feel the prop used doesn’t look out of place or un-natural and the fact that the model isn't looking at the camera in this shot I feel creates a natural shot. This is one picture which I feel in-corporates all the main themes in which we are looking for and may use it for the album cover and poster.

We needed to capture an image whereby our models were together to show the closeness of the relationship and the love between them as this is something that throughout our video needs to remain clear. The photo shoot we felt was good practise in order to see which positions reflected this the best. We ranged the shots two being close together and one having space between them, we felt having distance between them created tension in the picture and gave a sense of them being uneasy. We felt the bottom picture out of all three looked most natural in terms of looking comfortable with each other this is a shot we will be looking to create during our video. We also felt that the fact that they were looking at the camera will allow the viewer to automatically feel that they are almost involved in this relationship and make the video more personal and relatable.

The next shots of our models we took at an early time in order to capture the light, as in our video we are going to create flashbacks from their relationship and we are going to show this by using a number of different lighting and colour arrangements. I feel these pictures are a little un natural as we are looking to produce flashbacks that are almost real and as if the camera wasn’t there. But in terms of lighting I feel this is perfect in order to recapture memories as by using the bright lighting the viewer is able to see the happiness of these memories.
