In the Spring issue of the Tidings, we shared that the Board had delved into the history of the organization. We noted that the term ‘auxiliary’ was no longer descriptive of the composition of our membership. Many members continue to be affiliated with United Methodist Churches within the York District. In recent years, we have grown to encompass residents and their family members, along with many other friends. From the earliest days, we have been committed to raising funds to enhance the comfort and enjoyment in the lives of residents of Normandie Ridge. As the direct financial support from area churches has decreased, we have expanded our fundraising efforts. Our purpose remains to use these funds to provide purposeful living through compassionate service for all of Normandie Ridge residents. e term ‘friends’ appropriately defines the kind, supportive, dedicated and loving relationships of our members. ank you. It features a paved figure eight trail in a lovely natural setting. e trail is lined with sturdy wooden benches, including three that were donated by Friends of the Normandie Ridge Community. e Board invites you to visit the park to take a relaxing walk and spend time observing the beauty of nature. March was our fundraising month! You were given the opportunity to support the Normandie Ridge community by purchasing products from Th irty-One and Scentsy. You were also invited to Th e Sharin’ of the Green St. Patty’s Day event. Your support of these events brought in a total of $983.28 – Th ank you!

Since the last issue of the Tidings, many excellent items have been donated to the Boutique. Th e Boutique volunteers express their appreciation to the generous donors! We invite our members to visit and shop at the Boutique.

Th e displays within the room and on the tables in the hallway are updated regularly with seasonal and holiday items.

Sales continue to be brisk and are on the honor system. We remind our buyers to write their name, the item purchased, and the price on the envelopes provided. Th e envelope can be placed in the locked box located behind the door.

Th ere is a special feature on display next to the Patriot Café in the main hallway of the Manchester Court building.

A beautiful king sized quilt with matching pillow shams is up for bid and will be sold to the highest bidder on October 10, 2021. Th is handmade quilt and shams are valued at over $300. Please consider adding this lovely set to your home. Join in the bidding! You can come to shop in the Boutique and place your bid daily between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
