On the 26th November it is Cake Day! Dear God, we love cake THANK YOU for cake, for all the different types of cake, for celebraon cakes, fruit cakes, chocolate cakes, fairy cakes and Mrs Latham’s ffin…….and so on! Thank you for all the people who bake cakes for us. This week the following received these cerficates:- Cerficate for Year 3 Henry Ball Friendship Year 2 delivered a fabulous worship on the Christian value Wisdom and the British Value of Responsibility. We were all reminded of how we become wise through making the right choices and that the choices we make in life we are responsible for. This poem summarises all that we have learnt. The wise old owl lived in an oak The more he saw the less he spoke The less he spoke the more he heard Why can't we all be like that wise old bird Well done Year 2! Everyone is invited to attend St Mary’s Church on Thursday 30th November at 5.00 pm for a Christingle Service. This is a lovely short service and we hope you can come along and join us. Christingle collection boxes/envelopes will be given to pupils and these can be brought along to the service if you wish. All donations go the ‘The Children’s Society’.

Well done to our Year 5/6 Sports Hall

Athletic Team who competed with

enthusiasm and great team spirit at

Albany High School on Wednesday.

The team enjoyed a wide range of athletic

activities and all children tried their very

best in everything they took part in.

Well done to our Year 6 Boys Football Team who battled it out in the finals of

the Chorley School Sport Partnership Tournament last night at Holy Cross.

After three exciting and very close games, the team finished fourth overall in the Chorley

district. We are very proud of the commitment and determination they have all displayed

over the last few weeks and we wish them well as they go on to play in the Preston North

End Competition in January. Thank you also to all parents who have supported and

transported the team over the weeks.

Year 4 enjoyed a very educational and interesting visit to

Springfields BNFL Preston. We studied how to stay safe around

electricity , how it is generated and used efficiently.

You can now apply for Primary and Secondary School

places for September 2018. Please apply at

www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools. If you are applying

for a place under Faith grounds, please download the

relevant Supplementary Form. Closing date for

Primary School places is 15th January 2018.

different finishing times

LCCG require a School Crossing Patrol officer to

cover this school. Working hours will be Monday

to Friday from 08:30 to 09:05 and 15:25 to

15:50, term time only.

Blackburn Rovers and Blackburn Diocese are hosting an

event on 7th December in the stand at Ewood Park to

which we are all invited. Year 3 attended a similar event

in the summer and had a fantastic time worshipping with

others. If you are interested, please contact St James’

Church using the details opposite.
