Flex fuel vehicles, commonly called FFVs, are vehicles engineered to run on any ethanol/gasoline blend. FFVs allow the drivers, when available, to choose their fuel blend such as E20, E30, E50 up to E85. Drivers choose higher blends for a number of different reasons: price, cleaner burning fuel, and to support American jobs and American-made products. For more information visit: www.EthanolRFA.org BENEFITS OF HIGHER ETHANOL BLENDS • Ethanol can help lower the price of a gallon of fuel. • Ethanol increases horsepower and octane. • Ethanol reduces engine knocking and pinging. • Ethanol helps keep your engine clean by reducing fuel system build up. • Ethanol helps prevent gas line freezes in the winter. • Ethanol burns cleaner, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 50%. • American Ethanol supports over 360,000 jobs across the economy, jobs that cannot be outsourced. American Ethanol increases our country’s energy independence and strengthens our economic and national security by keeping American dollars at home rather than sending them to oil-rich countries in the Middle East and elsewhere around the globe. Before you fill your tank with a flex fuel blend, make sure you have an FFV.
