Ministry Highlight

Good News Bunch Date: October 11 - November 15 Time: 3:30-5:00pm Coordinator: Ken Parkin

The Good News Club for Stewart Creek Elementary is starting up again this Fall. This is an exciting opportunity to share the love of Christ and the good news of salvation with 50-60 children who typically participate in this after school program sponsored by LBC. It also allows us to connect with their parents and invite them to check out our church.

If you are interested in participating in this outreach to children and their families in our community, please sign up on the back table or call the church office. Volunteers will be serving at the church every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30-5:00pm for 6 weeks.

LBC Kids Ministry We have more service opportunities in the LBC Kids Ministry. We presently have the following immediate needs:

• Caregivers for the Nursery 5th Sunday of only those months with 5 Sundays during Equipping Hour.

• Caregivers for the Nursery 5th Sunday of only those months with 5 Sundays during Worship Service.

• Caregivers for the Toddlers (1 year olds) once a month during Worship Service.

• Teachers needed for the Pre-School class once a month during Worship Service

• Teachers needed in the Pre-K class once a month during Worship Service

• Teachers needed for the Kindergarten class every other Sunday during Equipping Hour

• Teachers needed for the Kindergarten class once a month during Worship Service

• Substitutes we can call on as needed.

Benevolence If you would like to help meet the needs within our body for those who are experiencing financial difficulties, please indicate “benevolence” with your contribution. Lamplighter’s Brunch There will be a Lamplighters Brunch (55+) at the Walden Yacht  Club on  October 9 after the Worship Service.  If you are coming or have any questions please call Ralph Pursche at 936-447-1675.

DNOW is a weekend where 7th-12th grade students gather together at LBC to worship, study God’s Word, and have some crazy-fun together!  Small groups will be assigned to a host home for the weekend where they will sleep.  DNOW weekends are a great place for students to invite friends to discover what being a disciple of Christ is all about. 

In order for your student to participate they must have a 2016-2017 Lakeside Medical Release on file. If your student requires prescription medication while at DNOW, please complete the Medicine Form and turn it in with the medicine on Friday, October 14th. Dr. Alex D. Montoya First Fundamental Bible Church | Whittier, CA

Alex has served as the Senior Pastor at First Fundamental Bible Church in East Los Angeles since 1972 and holds a B.A. in La t i n Amer i can H i s to r y f rom B io l a University and a M.Div. and a Th.M. from Talbot Theological Seminary along with an honorary D.D. from The Master’s Seminary where he served for over 20 years as Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministries. In the last 40 years, God has used Alex to plant over 15 churches, start a school to train Spanish speaking men in pastoral ministry, and write a number of books including Preaching With Passion. He and his wife Favy have two married children and five grandchildren.

Join us on October 27-29 for a challenging and encouraging 2 days and 2 nights of fellowship, praise and worship, and powerful, practical teaching on how to become the leader God has called you to be.
