languages, scripture reading, and silence.

Food Pantry Special Request: The volunteers at the Ilse Marks Food Pantry have asked that during the month of October, as we continue to collect the weekly generous food dona-tions, they would appreciate donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss, as these are items that are somewhat costly and are not covered by food stamps. This will be especially appropriate as Halloween with its abundance of candy and treats is coming soon, and these items will be espe-cially important as parents try to encourage good den-tal hygiene. And as always, they continue to be most grateful for your very generous donations. Thank you!!

Knight of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive

After all the masses this weekend the KofC will be outside the church to raises funds especially for our youth who are mentally and physically challenged. These funds are available for those in need and not restricted to Knights of Columbus

From Senior Deacon Mike:

Last week, the scripture readings referenced the concept of ‘faith’ and its rele-vance in the religious history of our tradition.

This weekend, the Gospel passage describes the healing of the lepers and their reaction. Jesus remarks that of the ten who were healed only one offered thanks

for the gift of healing. Then he said to him, “Stand up and go;

your faith has saved you.”

The Catholic Voter & The Signs of The Times WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 5:30 P.M.

CORCORAN COMMONS, HEIGHTS ROOM, CHESTNUT HILL CAMPUS

Vatican II's "Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World" encouraged believers to read the "signs of

the times" in order to discern where God is to be found in the world and how we are to respond. This electoral

season can be read as revealing a number of significant social issues that ought to be considered as Catholic

citizens go to the voting booths.
