No ma er where you go, you can’t escape it.” In this world there is so much suffering and in the lives of each one of us, we experience it ... physically, emo onally and spiritually. What should our response be to suffering... to the “crosses” that come into our lives? The world sees the cross as folly, our faith teaches us that there is meaning and merit in our crosses, trials and sufferings. We can gain great insight on how to carry our crosses from the saints and the great spiritual writers of the Church, along with Sacred Scripture. The parishioners of Our Lady Queen of Angels have answered the call. We thank you for your generosity at Thanksgiving and Christmas that provided food for so many families who might

have gone without a holiday meal. You contributed enough groceries to meet our needs

and then some. Our Church family donated canned goods, dry goods, meats and also

provided significant financial assistance. That monetary support provided us with the

opportunity to purchase a few items that were needed, including the turkeys, and allows us to

meet future needs. There were some very significant anonymous dona ons and we can’t

thank you enough. Your concern and though ulness will always be remembered. Any

dona on, whether a can or a case, whether a dollar or more adds up to a convincing concern

for others. Now, as we have no ced an increase in weekly food requests and head towards the Easter season, we ask you for your help again. We are in need of the following items: soups,

tuna, peanut bu er, tomato sauce, cake mixes, icing, pie crusts, canned pie filling or pudding. Also, canned fruit especially apple sauce and

pineapple, and canned beans (cannelloni, chick peas and the like). If you have any large paper bags or reusable bags we can surely use that as

The Reverend Alfred R. Merusi Memorial Scholarship applica ons are now available for qualified high school seniors who are enrolling in an accredited two or four year ins tu on of learning. The Marion and Dorothy Whalon Scholarship applica ons are now available for qualified students who are graduates of the St. Joseph School and are enrolled full me in a College or University of higher educa on. “The Walk” (Starts April 13th) How do we walk with Christ - daily follow him, grow in him, and faithfully serve him? In the Gospels, Jesus modeled for us the Chris an spiritual life. The apostles then taught it in their wri ngs. And the Church has, through the last 2,000 years, sought to pursue this Chris an spiritual life. “The Walk,” by Adam Hamilton, focuses on five essen al spiritual prac ces that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God and taught throughout the New Testament. Each of these prac ces is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essen al part of growing together in the church. Join us to deepen your walk with Christ as we explore the five essen al prac ces of worship, study, serving, giving, and bearing witness to our faith. Instructor: Deacon Don Smith
