Preparing for Next Sunday Second Sunday of Easter Sunday of Divine Mercy

Today’s first reading from the Acts of the Apostles shows the community of believers as being of one heart and mind in ensuring that no one among them was in need. The second reading shows us that we conquer the world through faith. And today’s Gospel reading shows Christ breathing on the disciples, giving them the Holy Spirit and the authority to forgive sins.

Confirmation Sponsors Meeting - Spring Confirmation II sponsors meeting will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 2:45 PM in the Parish Hall. After the meeting, sponsors and candidates will attend the 5:00 PM Mass. If the sponsors are not able to attend, the parents may substitute in their absence. Second Thursday Session and Meeting Confirmation II candidates Gifts of the Holy Spirit session will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 7:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Confirmation II parents meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9 at 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall. If the parents are not able to attend, the sponsor may substitute. Please do not bring small children.

OLMC School Spring Carnival

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School will be hosting its Spring Carnival on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 3:30 - 8:00 PM. The Carnival will be complete with food, games, music and prizes! This is a great fund raiser for the school! We are seeking the support of all our parish and community families, to come out and take advantage of this opportunity. Youth Ministry News Unstoppable Retreat The Unstoppable retreat, held on March 20-22 was a success! The testimonials from the youth were amazing. Thank you for your prayers and support. This retreat would not have been possible without the generosity of the community. A special thanks to the New Generation Seniors, Mr. Harkins, and all of the parents. Archdiocesan Youth Conference Congratulations to Servando Ortiz Jr. on his appointment to the Archdiocesan Youth Council for 2015-2016. Servando will serve as a representative for the youth of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and for the Central Vicariate. Servando will be commissioned by Cardinal DiNardo at the closing Mass of the Archdiocesan Youth Conference on August 2, 2015. Steubenville South Conference Youth Ministry will be attending the Steubenville Conference on June 26-28 in Alexandria, Louisiana. There are no more spaces available. Please keep us in your prayers and support the youth with their upcoming fundraisers.
