LETTER OF THANKS
A letter was received from Marjorie Becker, Executive Di-
rector of Lifeline of Southwest Pennsylvania stating:
“The very generous parishioners of OLOL have provided
us with many of the items that we are able to distribute to
our many needy clients. For this act of charity we, and our
clients, are most grateful. We express our gratitude to the
very thoughtful people who placed our client needs among
the many other personal wants of their families and friends.
We sincerely appreciate all that you have done for us as we
continue to serve those who have chosen life for their chil-
dren, even though it may be a difficult time in their lives.
We send our best wishes for a peaceful and blessed new
year to the members of your parish family.”

the perfect “grab and go” food, since most fruits and many
vegetables, like carrots, celery, and bags of pre-washed
snap peas need no preparation.
ADVANCE NOTICE: Ash Wednesday is March 5th
which is the beginning of the Easter season. In order to
offer our Lenten fish fries this year, we need a volunteer
to head them. Kriston Galish needs to step down due to
taking on a full time job but is willing to help get you
started. Last year we profited $22,542.67 from this fund-
raiser. That’s a lot of money for a 6 week project. You
can even team up with another person to head them. If
interested, please call the rectory (947-3363).

ON MISSION FOR THE CHURCH ALIVE! Put Out
Into Deep Water And Lower Your Nets For A Catch -
When we reflect on the life and ministry of Jesus it is
pretty clear that so much of it was unexpected. God’d-
schosen people were certainly awaiting a Messiah, a Sav-
ior, but they were expecting a rich and powerful king, not
an itinerant preacher. Even the people Jesus surrounded
himself with - the poor, sinners, the marginalized - were
unexpected. Why wouldn’t the Savior surround himself
with more influential people? Yet, we know that Christ
came to save all, not just some and that he casts his net
far and wide in order to draw all people to himself. As
followers of Christ, we seek to be his face and hands and
heart in the world today and we look for countless ways
to invite others to share in his life of faith. The words he
speaks to Peter and the Apostles are spoken to us. “Do
not be afraid” to “put out into deep water” and inspire the
hearts of everyone you meet to know and love Jesus.
While you may not think so, your witness of faith can be
just what someone else needs to go deeper themselves in
their relationship with the Lord. On Mission for The
Church Alive! invites us all to look for ways to build up
the Body of Christ. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to
learn more and to stay informed.
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE: If we don’t teach our
children who God is, someone else will teach them eve-
rything he isn’t.
