s many of you know, Holy Church meditates upon the Immaculate Heart of Mary during the month of August. St. John Eudes, a French priest of the 17th century whose feast day lands on August 19th, used to close his personal letters with the phrase... in the Heart of
Jesus and Mary. Note the use of the singular instead of the plural... in the Heart of Jesus and Mary. This was not a grammatical mistake, rather this priest was making a strong spiritual point, namely, that the Heart of Jesus was present in the Heart of Mary. That is, the virtues of the Heart of Christ—His Love, His Mercy, His Meekness, His Courage, and His Humility—were also present in the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It is impossible to separate these two Hearts. It would be easier to separate the sun from its heat and light than to separate the Heart of Christ from the Heart of Mary. Furthermore, St. Thomas Aquinas, the universal doctor of Holy Church, teaches that the Sacred Flesh of Christ was formed from the Most Pure Blood of Mary which issued forth from her heart. The Heart of Mary brought forth the Heart of Christ! This is why we should never be afraid to approach Our Lady, for Blessed Mary has been fully transformed by the power of grace. She is, as it were, transparent. (continued)

THE TWELVE PROMISES OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS 1. I will give them all the graces necessary in their state
of life. 2. I will give peace in their families and will unite
families that are divided. 3. I will console them in all their troubles. 4. I will be their refuge during life and above all in
death. 5. I will bestow the blessings of Heaven on all their
enterprises. 6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and infinite
ocean of mercy. 7. Tepid souls shall become fervent. 8. Fervent souls shall rise quickly to great perfection. 9. I will bless those places wherein the image of My
Heart shall be exposed and honored and will imprint My love on the hearts of those who will wear this image on their person. I will also destroy in them all disordered movements. [Note: Those who wear the Miraculous Medal do “wear this image on their person” since it has both the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts on the back side].
10. I will give to priests who are animated by a tender devotion to my Divine Heart the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who communicate on the First Friday of nine consecutive months, the grace of final penitence: they will not die in My disgrace, nor without receiving the Sacraments. My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment. (The Nine Fridays must be made in honor of His Sacred Heart… i.e., practicing the devotion and having a great love of His Sacred Heart. They must be on the first Friday of the month for nine consecutive months, and Communion must be received.)

You can see right through her. It is not so much she that lives, but Christ living in her. Therefore, if we want to be meek and humble of heart... if we want our hearts to be made like unto Christ... then let us quickly and confidently go to Mary, for she has His Heart to give to us. — Fr. Shannon Collins, MSJB, Pastor
A special collection will be taken up on Sunday September 11 for the flood victims of Louisiana.
