Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Guadalupe,
One of my favorite passages in the Bible is from today’s Gospel. “Come to Me all of you who labor and are heavily burdened and I will give you rest”.
Whenever I feel burdened or overwhelmed, I repeat these words of Jesus to us. Today we all feel stressed and burdened. With all that is going on in our world whether it be the coronavirus, the reminders of racial injustice, the hurricane season that is upon us…..we feel truly overwhelmed. In the midst of all this we hear Jesus’ words: Come to Me…..bring your fears and anxieties before Me and believe Me…..I will give you the strength and comfort you need. This is Jesus’ promise to all of us. He doesn’t say we won’t have problems in life but He does promise to give us what we need to get through the tough times.
Today, bring your burdens before the Lord. Tell Him what weighs on your heart and truly trust in Him to give you the courage and strength and peace that you need . I truly believe that it is through some of the most difficult times in our life, that the Lord wants to break through and be with us. Allow Him to be with you and me during these days.
God bless all of you,
Fr. Tony

Special Mass to Celebrate Graduates of 2020
We will celebrate Mass on Sunday July 19th
9:30AM for the graduating Seniors from high school and college. Let us gather to pray for
our graduates and their future endeavors.
The 6PM Sunday Mass will resume at the end of July. I thank all of you for
your patience as we try to resume all of our regular schedule. We will also
resume our Noonday Mass during the week at the end of July.
Summer Novena Summer Novena to St Jude begins on Saturday,
July 25th till Aug. 2nd. Once again the Novena will be streamed daily on Facebook and on our St. Jude website. The Masses on Saturday will be at 7AM,
Noon and 4PM. On Sundays they will be at 7:30AM, 9:30AM and 11:30AM. The Oblate Fathers
here at St. Jude’s will be conducting these days. During the week, Monday thru Friday, there will
only be a 7AM and Noon Novena Masses.
Happy July 4th weekend----although these have been tough days we still celebrate the Freedoms that were promised to all in the Declaration of Independence. We also are well aware that many still do not possess the freedoms promised and that each day is a struggle for many of our brothers and sisters. This weekend let us pray that all will be able to realize that we are all created equal in the eyes of God and that we must work to bring about an end to anything that prevents from experiencing this truth.
