Rosie Allen and Annie Haigh

Page 2: Our film pitch

We are INDISTINCTIVE PRODUCTIONS. We came up with this name for our production

company because it highlights the indistinct qualities of Film Noir, it adds the mystery to what

is revealed throughout our production.

WHO ARE WE?

Page 3: Our film pitch

The genre we have chosen to focus on is a Romantic Drama with a sub-genre of Film Noir. Noir has been called a sub-category of a crime

film, a species of psychological thriller, a mystery with a private eye as its hero; but it has not often

been called a genre.

GENRE OF OUR FILM

Page 4: Our film pitch

Our film consists of four main characters, Bridgette and Raymond are firstly introduced from the outside as looking like the perfect

marriage, who are wealthy and love each other. However it is revealed through Bridgette having an affair with the detective

that their life isn’t as perfect from the outside picture… the affair take places over a few months but what Bridgette doesn’t know that the detective is seeing another woman… Vivienne. As both

the women find out, Vivienne seduces Bridgette’s husband, Raymond turning this into a twisted love affair. This happens

while the hustle and bustle of the 1950’s takes place, cocktails, bars, dances, office affairs and drugged up love. In the end the

detective has to decide what's best the for him and both the women, it ends up in a fight between the four characters as Raymond finds out about his wife and the detective, and the

women both want revenge on each other… but who will succeed?

LOGLINE

Page 7: Our film pitch

One of the Unique selling points in our film is the romantic sub-genre with Film Noir, within the film there are several

affairs between 4 people, which is usually called a ‘love triangle’, however on this occasion more people are

involved.

Another unique point to our film is that we have subverted the usual film noir style and chosen 2 female characters to

have the lead roles.

UNIQUE SELLING POINT FOR RENDEZVOUS

Page 8: Our film pitch

Bridget- in an unhappy marriage with Raymond Colbert, she soon finds someone else to attach herself to.

Bridget is in her late 20’s/early 30’s and has presumably settled down with her husband Raymond. She acts naive

and feminine concealing her love affair with the Detective, an old friend of Raymond's.

Bridget is placed as a more innocent & protagonist character than the ‘femme fatale’ Vivienne Sherry (however you could interpret both the female roles as ‘femme fatale’).

However Bridget is the most deceitful.

CHARACTERS: BRIDGET

We would choose 1 of 2 British actresses to play this role in Rendezvous. Helena Bonham-Carter (left)-right age-…………. Juno Temple(right)

Raymond seems to be the only truly innocent character in the whole love affair. Once he finds out about his beloved wife and the detective he doesn’t know what to do with

himself and becomes weak and vulnerable, which seems the perfect time for ‘femme fatale’ Vivienne to interfere…

Raymond is considerable older than his wife – in his late 40’s/early 50’s. he would never intentionally do anything

wrong to his wife, he’s always been considerate of her, until this betrayal unhinges itself.

CHARACTERS: RAYMOND

In real life we would use the British actor Jude Law to play this roleIn Love Actually.

Detective Darlington is considered to be a ‘ladies man’ or a ‘player’, he has his ways with women.

The Detective is in his late 30’s and very attractive, he has a cynical look about himself and is an incredibly secretive

character.

CHARACTERS: DETECTIVE DARLINGTON

Daniel Craig is a British Actor who most famously plays the role as James Bond.

CHARACTERS: VIVIENNE

The ‘femme fatale’ Vivienne metaphorically, an item which belongs to the detective, they are not quite in a relations for say, but can be considered a couple at some events

It is argued that Film Noirs also aim for an older audience due to the complexity of the narrative, due to the idea that they have a better understanding of the twist and turns that are within a Noir. Where the young generation may be attracted to violence and actions of

the film that is commonly included.

Our trailer is therefore going to be aimed at 15+ audiences, as young teenagers will be interested with the action, as well as the

twist of the narrative, also the romance of the film. However think that it would appeal to older people due to the complexity of the

plot, they are able to understand or grasp it much better.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE

Our film is targeted at both male and females, but as the traditional film noir would appeal to males; we have subverted this to a dominantly female casting due to the main characters. So our main audience will be female, as the film appeals to them due to the romance and the young characters involved.

We will appeal to our audiences by using popular websites such as Tumblr and Twitter. Our target audience use these websites on a daily basis so we can connect to them easily.
