Aquabike entry Your finish line will be at bike in but we would like you

to cross the finish line at the tower in Village Green

Park for your medal and other post race items.

Recovering from an injury? Training for a full and

don’t want to tax your legs? Don’t want to run? Then

AquaBike is for you. This division is Swim, Bike and

Dun – no run. The AquaBike category will start in its

own wave and will have a different age group struc-

ture based on the size of the AquaBike category. We

look forward to seeing this category continue to grow

around all our events.

Relay Teams (2 or 3 person teams) Relay teams of two or three that can enter the event and compete together. So get together with a couple of friends and start training for one of the most re-warding experiences of your life.

On exiting the water the swimmer must run into tran-sition and transfer the timing chip to the cyclist who will be waiting by their bike rack.

After tagging or passing the timing chip, the cyclist may then un-rack their bike and head out of transition observing the same instructions and rules as the indi-vidual competitors. The same drafting rules also apply.

WAVES STARTS & DIVISIONS

Clydesdale and Athena waves will go off in age groups. Waves will not have more than 150 in each wave and will be organized

in age groups going into the event. This will be done on the last week going into the event as our timing company sets up all

the chips for the event. Waves could change up to race day based on registrations that come in last minute.

Drafting: Drafting is illegal at the Oakland Triathlons. We ask for your help in doing the best we can to help enforce the "NO DRAFTING" rules of USA Triathlon. You, the athlete, are the simplest and best way to keep the bike course safe and draft free. We will have USA Triathlon Officials out on the bike course, but you personally need to help the sport and yourself by simply backing out of packs, slowing down or verbally mentioning to other athletes not to draft.
