Date of birth: 8 Oct 1924 Married with 4 children His family was one of the families who were

already living in Singapore when Sir Stamford Raffles arrived in 1819

Othman Wok was born to a teacher and principal

He got enrolled in a Japanese school during Japanese occupation

Contributions to Singapore

As a member of PAP he was opposed to the pan-Malay movements (that lead to two riots in the 1960s)

He became Singapore's ambassador to Indonesia and served on the boards of the Singapore Tourism Board and Sentosa Development Corporation after retiring from active politics

 Some Malays accuse him of being a traitor and was a target of abuse

However, Othman Wok didn’t give up

In a nut shell, we could conclude that Mr Othman Wok is a great Leader with courage and perserverance. We know this because when he join the PAP, he was regarded as a ‘traitor’ to some of the malays but he persisted and continue. If he hadn’t did what he did then, there won’t be a Singapore now. This implies that Mr Othman Wok is a wonderful Leader which made what Singapore was today
