PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
November 2016 –Williamson County School District. Franklin, TN Present Occupational Therapist (covering three elementary schools)
Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions encompassing grades K to 5 with areas of focus and diagnoses including developmental disability, intellectual disability, Autism, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, behavior dysfunction, sensory processing disorder (SPD), and visual perceptual and visual motor skills dysfunction
Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, parents, speech-language therapist, and administrative personnel to promote student success
Responsible for observation, screening, and evaluation of students identified as having an OT need by the IEP team. Responsible for documentation including daily progress notes, quarterly progress notes, and annual IEP updates according to district policy
Design individualized treatment sessions, and modify treatment programs to align with student IEP goals

Experience with adolescents grades 9 to 12 and Transition students aged 18-21 with diagnoses including Autism, ADD/ADHD, SPD, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, traumatic injuries, and a variety of mild to severe cognitive and physical disabilities
Extensive experience with students in relation to social/emotional/sensory processing strategies used to increase focus/attention and reduce anxiety/behaviors
Supported development of fine motor skills, handwriting, visual motor, self-help, sensory processing, and independent living skills

Experience working with childrenVolunteer - Boy Scouts of America (Sept 2002 - Dec 2014) I have worked with youth for 12 years through the Boy Scouts of America as a leader and
committee chair and this involved directly working with some youth with ASD. I was able to help these youth increase their occupational performance using a consistent schedule and positive reinforcement, all while providing a safe and encouraging environment.
Personal experience – Family member with Cerebral Palsy (Oct 1999 – present) I have 17 years of experience working with my nephew, Caleb, who was born with Cerebral
Palsy. From the time he was born, Caleb has been persevering and working to enhance his strengths and limitations and I have been able to directly participate in his care and also in his therapy sessions. Caleb continues to inspire me to want to do more to help children have a successful future.

Evaluated clients, completed assessments, and developed individualized upper extremity therapy plans of care to meet the clients' needs.
Extensive experience in orthosis fabrication, including instructing client in use and care. Communicated with insurance companies regarding client benefits and medical justification for
services. Routinely used and demonstrated safe use of ultrasonic machines, fluidotherapy, and other
modalities to improve clients' physical health and comfort.
