OSRAM Lighting, a global leader in LED lighting have recently supplied the OSRAM High Power Modular Street Light Generation 2 (HPMSL G2) to provide illumination of the public railway platforms at Blacktown and Parramatta railway stations in Sydney. The 100W LED OSRAM High Power Modular Street Light was installed on the existing lighting poles to replace 150W metal halide luminaires. The OSRAM LED luminaires will reduce the energy consumed by this pole mounted light by approximately 40%. In addition the HPMSL G2 luminaire with a 50,000 hour long life LED (L70@30 o C) will greatly reduce lamp maintenance costs compared to traditional metal halide lamp luminaires. The wide beam version of the OSRAM High Power Modular Street Light provides even white light illumination of Blacktown and Parramatta railway station platforms on the Sydney Trains urban network. The three LED modules of the 100W HPMSL G2 A3 luminaire provide 8700 lumens of clear white light at 4500K with a good colour rendering index of 70CRI. The lighting is comfortable for vision and natural in appearance for both objects and people. The OSRAM High Power Modular Street Light Generation 2 has been easily installed to the existing pole outreach arms, the luminaire with its internal mounting clamping system fits easily onto existing 50mm to 70mm OD spigots. The HPMSL G2 luminaire features a robust IP66 grey powder coated die cast aluminium housing with a strong IK10 impact rating. The luminaire is also fully serviceable with top access to the LED driver should this require maintenance. The three LED modules on the underside are also replaceable components to allow for an extended luminaire life. With a weight of only 10.5kg and a small wind area of only 0.18m² the 100W OSRAM High Power Modular Street Light Generation 2 is fully compliant with Australian RCM requirements and offers the ideal LED lighting solution for railway platform illumination.
