Owned by the Queensland Government, Queensland Rail operates suburban and longdistance passenger services. It also owns and maintains approximately 8,000 kilometres of track. Optical Solutions Australia OSA was successful in bidding on a public tender for the supply of high brightness public display screens and enclosures for the Queensland Rail – Passenger Information Display System Project. The combined cost efficiencies of high quality monitor enclosures to accommodate the screens as a single unit or screens mounted back2back along with the high technical performance of the screens enabled OSA to have a very competitive bid. Alternative screens are available with higher brightness specifications for extreme external conditions, these screens with a brightness rating of 3000 cd/msq are also available in the same or other variable sizes. The monitor enclosures are vandal resistant and rated to IP66 standard, thus enabling Queensland Rail to ensure that they can be located in the most prominent locations to offer the best customer experience for passenger information. On the rail network you may recognise persons with whom the Queensland Police Service or Queensland Rail wish to speak to about an incident or matter with which they may be able to assist. The Passenger Information Display system (PIDs) carries images highlighting persons of interest, from time to time. The use of a person’s image does not necessarily indicate that they are an offender merely that Police or Rail Staff wish to speak with them about an incident that has occurred on the rail network. The person may be a witness and may be able to provide additional information to help with an incident. During your travel if you recognise any of these persons we encourage you to let us know via either of our three communication mediums listed above. Additional Information: The Queensland Police Service Railway Squad, Queensland Rail and Crime Stoppers still joined to help solve crime in and around the South East Queensland corner. The Crime Stoppers Project is now further enhanced utilising the new displays. The original system involved displaying ‘appeal for assistance’ bulletins on Queensland Rail Passenger Information Display Systems located at railway stations on the Queensland Rail City Network. “The Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) are highly visible LCD monitors used to display timetable and passenger information. “PIDS are currently installed at twelve major transport hubs including Roma Street, Central and Fortitude Valley stations and are being progressively rolled out across the entire Network.” According to Senior Sergeant Steve Vick of the Railway Squad, this project will give police an opportunity to appeal to the potential audience of 170,000 passengers a day who use the rail network across five policing regions. “The bulletins can be displayed across all PIDS or targeted at individual railway lines depending on the investigative need. “They are designed to appeal for information from the network users if they recognise the person displayed and shows the Crime Stoppers number urging anyone with information to pass this on to the appropriate authority for follow up,” he said. The OSA Solution offering consisted of the following key elements: The SSD3825 is an innovative ultrawide, sunlight readable, LED backlight LCD display, it provides LCD panel with specific ratios for digital signage, public transportation, exhibition hall, department store, vending machine and industrial applications. Incorporating with A.D. control board and backlight design, it is high brightness and sunlight readable panel, can display highquality video with energyefficient. Overview  Queensland Rail, also known as QR, is a railway operator in the state of Queensland, Australia. Owned by the Queensland Government, Queensland Rail operates suburban and long‐distance passenger services. It also owns and maintains approximately 8,000 kilometres of track.  Optical Solutions Australia OSA was successful in bidding on a public tender for the supply of high brightness public display screens and enclosures for the Queensland Rail – Passenger Information Display System Project.  The combined cost efficiencies of high quality monitor enclosures to accommodate the screens as a single unit or screens mounted back‐2‐back along with the high technical performance of the screens enabled OSA to have a very competitive bid. The use of a person’s image does not necessarily indicate that they are an offender ‐ merely that Police or Rail Staff wish to speak with them about an incident that has occurred on the rail network.    The person may be a witness and may be able to provide additional information to help with an incident. During your travel ‐ if you recognise any of these persons ‐ we encourage you to let us know via either of our three communication mediums listed above.

The OSA Solution offering consisted of the following key elements:  • The SSD3825 is an innovative ultra‐wide, sunlight readable, LED
